I'm confused as to whether or not you're actually being serious, I would hope not. What really gets under my skin are the non-English speaking "citizens" of our state who seem to have unlimited access to state run assistance programs. Like the two women in front of me at the store last week paying with the Lone Star card and surprised at the fact that the card reader didn't provide instructions in Spanish....

Well they haven't released the 2010 data, but they do have the historic growth rates. So, no, it's not useless. It just takes some thinking is all. Take a look at Latino birth rates vs white, non Latino and you'll see that the 46.7% has gotten smaller where the Latino % has grown.

So, yes, the Latino population is most likely larger then the white population today; seeing as how they weren't even 50% in 2000.

Because contrary to poplular belief, Texas is still part of America.

So? This is the USA. Our language is English. An American who does not speak spanish should not be expected to speak it in their own country. It would be the same for any country. If I am in Mexico, I would have some nerve to think that they should speak English there for me. I would do my best to learn Spanish. It is my obligation.

Well you sir need to spend some more time in border states. Everyone else who came to this country learned English because they knew they could not survive without learning it. This country was not made great by babying people.

Exactly!

My family when they came here from Germany had to learn English and they came here when more people in the US spoke German than English.

psssttt...the guy/gal who built your Camaro probably spoke French Canadian. GM's complaint line is 800-222-1020.

While I agree that if you come to the United States you need to learn our language, I will say this much: at least she was working!

Well, all I can say is, if they had communication problems because they didn't know English, then they should have learned English. They are obligated to learn English. If they spoke both English and French, then more power to them.

We took our honeymoon in Rome. While were there we at least tried to speak Italian, as bad as it was. We found that if we at least tried to speak it, they would be more understanding and help us out. I don't have any issues with people moving here, but as was mentioned above, if you move to a different place, learn the language, don't expect them to learn yours.
