Why is GM not embracing the heritage that people love about the classic first Gens by offering the colors we all crave?
Thank you, kind Sir. Nice car you have there yourself.

Again, you make very good points. The Camaro would definitely stand out with some retro colors in the mix.

Some of the paint colors I've seen on the Challengers are definitely eye candy.

I bet this car will still be slower in the 1/4 than a Camaro SS and a 5.0 and for ~$10k more. The Challengers are nice looking cars, just priced way too high in terms of performance.

Dodge ran one 10 12.4, Edmunds, as crappy as they are, got 12.6. And you also check the price of a Camara SS or Mustang GT optioned to SRT levels, both 40k plus.

Currently, a 2011 Challenger SRT-8 goes for 44,985 with the nav. The exact same set up on the Mustang GT costs about 41k. So there's already a 4k price difference for the current set up. I'm not sure what the price increase is, but I'm sure that gap will widen a bit further.

Yes, Dodge and Edmunds got good times. 2 other tests were done and it ran high 12s. I'll wait and see once more tests are done.

As to price, I said "in terms of performance". If you compare it to a base model 5.0 or Camaro SS, the difference is indeed ~$10k, and actually closer to $15k vs a base model 5.0.

2012 Mustang GT optioned to match the SRT8: 42680 and still doesn't have the keyless entry/start system of the SRT, smaller wheels, and no independant rear suspension.

4g difference between an 11 GT which you can no longer even order and 3g with a 12. given the extra stuff you get with the SRT8 it is definatly worth the asking price. So is the Mustang. please don't think I am trying to say either one is overpriced as IMHO they are both AMAZING cars and worth the price of addmission. i see the Mustang as a balls to the wall performance machine and the SRT8 as a "cruise" missle. I want to take the Mustang to the twisties and the CHallenger across country. The Camaro is a great car too and maxed out cheaper than both, but there reasons for that as it simply does not offer the available features or quality interior materials of the Mustang or SRT, still a great car though. IMHO all are great cars and all are EASILY worth their prices. Name one car in the 30-45k price range that can give a CHallenger SRT-8, Camaro SS, Mustang GT, or Mustang Boss a run for there money. Easy, they don't exist.

The difference there is simple. Edmunds and Dodge both used automatics, the others had manuals, hasn't this been discussed before? And again, the Challenger SRT8 is a Halo model and a base GT or SS is simply not in the same class and as an overall package should NOT be compared. please see my post above.....

LMAO @ some of you guys saying dodge copied gm with this color. Im only 25 and even I know that dodge has always been the one company that has toyed with radical colors on their muscle cars. Wake up ppl. Challenger customers have been DEMANDING a lime green challenger before the 5th Gen was even a reality. GM did not invent the muscle car nor were they the first ones to throw crazy paint on one.

Early 392 tests show the new SRT8 trapping between 112 and 116, so it is indeed going to be faster than the GT or SS. Slower than the GT500 or CTS-V or ZL1.
