I've never had one of my cars bring me to tears, but I wish I hadn't sold my 2004 Silverado. This picture was actually before the serious modding started, I only had it for about 3 months at the point this picture was taken. It was like a good buddy.

Short answer is NO.
Ive owned 20+ car's so far and I never got those feelings. I wish I still had my 67 Camaro w/ ZZ4 and a stalled TH400 that my ex ended up getting in the break up, but a little part inside of me is glad it moved on and I dont have to deal or think about it's small problems anymore. I miss it about as much as my first car which was a root beer brown 74 Maverick with the Grabber package. Here's my first GM muscle car that I bought when I was 18. Pic was taken a few years later when I was 21 at my then new house. Notice the brand new for the time, 275/60/15 BFG comp TA Drag Radial ![]()

I do believe that the only car that has ever made me emotional is this one:

Mine were not glamorous but I loved them none the less. First I had a 99 Cavalier and 05 SRT 4. Here is the neon:

NICE first gen Monte. That is what I bought to fill my GM muscle car void after I found out my ex sold my 67 Camaro. As you can see in my sig I still have it, but it's parked out side. :( |

Cause now,...it doesn't matter. I still love my Camaro. It's my first car, but it's performance just isn't on par with what I want, stock. You get what you paid for. I really wanted a ZR1 or at least a Z06, but can't afford it, so....what can a middle class man do to get this type of performance? BUY A VETT AND SUPERCHARGE THAT B****!! lol! 580rwhp what now!? lol. Yeah, but I'm still kinda emotional over my dent, pissed every time I look at it, but soon, it's be in another mans arms.

I've developed some level of emotional attachement to every vehicle I've owned. The strongest for the three Camaro's.
The only one that brought me to tears was when my first car, an 81 Z28 was totalled when I was 16 by a guy who ran a red light. But the strogest emotional attachment to a car goes to my current one, a 98 SS. I really want a 5th gen, but I wouldn't be able to keep the 98 if I did, and I can't bring myself to sell it. I even had a guy out of the blue offer me $15k for it, more than it's worth, and I couldn't do it. That car will bring tears some day too if it's ever taken from me. |

Yes.
My first real car was a 1998 Z71 truck. I never test drove the truck, I just bought it, I worked at the dealer, and they had huge discounts on them. I got talked into the 4x4 too. I drove it about 3 miles and thought to myself, Uh Oh! I have 35 more payments of this, what have I done?!?!?!? I traded it for a 1999 Z28 new of course (I thought I was moving on from the dealership and wanted to get a sporty car - more my style). I loved that truck by the time I traded it. 1999 Z28: I loved that car. I leased it at the time to keep payments down, then planned on buying it. The t-tops leaked, it squeaked and rattled, but I loved it. I teared up when I turned in the lease. I was getting married, house, 2 cars, couldn't swing it. 2001 VW Passat: Still have it. 267,000 miles, I drive it like a race car. best car I have owned. I thought the turbo went a few months ago (turned out to be a coil) I got very emotional about having to get something different. I was even planning on a newer GTI, but still the thought of not going to my grave with that car is unsettling. 1997 Kawasaki ZX-7R: Wrecked it the week I got it for being stupid and inexperienced. Put 21,000 miles on it. When I sold it, my hands were shaking when I gave the guy the keys, again nearly tearing up as he rode off with it. (I bought a ducati 996 the year before and couldn't justify 2 sport bikes - still have the 996) |

I'm emotionally attached to mine to some extent.
I put a lot of effort trying to keep her nice and clean, so it does pain me when I find new battle scars in the paint, but if I lost her in an accident (in which I'm not at fault, I don't think I'd cry about it, mostly because there are some things in life that are unavoidable. Would I ever sell her? No, but that's because she's my first car. A lot of guys at the car shows always talk about how they had a Camaro as their first car and kick themselves today for selling it. My own dad kicks himself for selling his '67 RS/SS for parts (though, he has a gorgeous '69 RS/SS today). It's even a little heartwarming to go to car shows and talk with some of the owners who still have their Camaro's from when they were in high school. We met a guy last night who had his '71 since '75. And to me, it's just too beautiful to willingly let go:

i sorely miss my 84 Z28. it was the HO version with the cool dual snorkel intake. i bought it in 2004 with around 80k on it. it was my first fun car and had to sell it in 2009 to make room for my challenger. even thought it wasnt very fast with its smog regulated choked up 305, it was super clean, fun to drive and never had a problem with it. lots of good memories with that car.

Yes, 87 Grand National with T-tops............and pretty much everything before or after. What can I say. I love cars........and the occasional truck. I got to watch the Grand National go down the line in Pontiac.

I don't know from emotional. Do ya' mean gettin' weepy like a girl? In that case, definitely, no, but if ya' mean happy, hell yeah! My Camaro always makes me feel happy.
Just lookin' at it makes me feel better when I'm feelin' down. Drivin' it is HELLA GREAT!!! |
