Christmas traditions have changed so much in my 51 years. Used to go to my grandparents out in E Oklahoma when we were little. The 3 of us grandkids would do Christmas music on Christmas day after all the presents were opened. My Grandma & Grandpa were farmers and ranchers, so we always had lots of really good homecooked meals with the best mashed potatoes you've ever tasted!

When I had my own family, we'd have Christmas at our house with the kids, then go to both grandparents, in the same hometown in Oklahoma. We moved to Georgia over 20 years ago, so sometimes we'd travel to Oklahoma, and sometimes we'd stay home. We always had good homecooked meals and I learned to cook most of the dishes from my mother in law.

We always go to look at the Christmas lights at Lake Lanier "Magical Night of Lights" and have a Santa picture made. It's always a must to go to the Christmas Eve service at church. I am breaking from tradition this year and not cooking the turkey and ham. It will be standing rib roast, but I'll still make the German Chocolate cake from scratch.

We always have a real tree, and a few years ago, I bought some new bubble lights, because those were always my favorite growing up. We always put up lights and bows, and wrap the lights and garland up the stair rails. Oh, and Christmas wouldn't be the same without Mannheim Steamrollers in my CD player in the car.

Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope you have someone special to spend it with.
