You just can't beat those old Cherokees and that torquey inline 6.

what i'd like to see is the media get a hold of an automatic challenger for their acceleration and 1/4 mile tests...those are the R/T's getting better times. it takes lots of practice launching heavy cars with loads of torque and crappy street tires and no launch control with a stick! one day with the car just isnt enough to get that down.

How much torque at the wheels do the r/t put down?

most of the numbers i've seen posted are showing between 355-361 rwtq for a bone stock 6-speed R/T.

Most autos, in stock form, put down 345-355 RWTQ in bone stock condition.

Minimal mods (Tune, cat back and intake) put it up to around 365-375 RWTQ.

When you get into more extensive mods such as LT's, larger throttle bodies, custom tunes, etc etc, and 385-395 RWTQ is an average.

Mine, with just a K&N intake (no tune or anything) was 348 RWTQ

It was a positive review, looks like they have made some tweaks that make the big bruiser even more likeable.

Now if they will just bring the B5 Blue back for 2011...so far the color choices are bad.

its just from the way some people describe it, i was expecting a ton of torque.

While the numbers seem low, Hemi's tend to produce more torque down low. While they dont produce EPIC amounts of torque in stock form, they produce alot down low in the RPM range, causing better acceleration than seems possible.

That is partly why my 4100 lb bruiser turns in an average of 13.2-13.4 in the 1/4 which doesnt seem possible given the seemingly "low" torque and HP ratings in stock form.
