As someone said above, relearn has nothing to do with tire pressure, it is for relearning which wheel is where after tire rotation.

So the TPMS is not very accurate IMO. It always fluctuates... :(...
Always use Tire Gauge for accuracy...

This is from the Manual:
The TPMS matching process is
outlined below:

1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to
ON/RUN with the engine off.
3. Go to the TPM vehicle
information screen on the DIC.
See Driver Information Center
(DIC) on page 4-27. Press set to
relearn the sensors. The horn
sounds twice to signal the
receiver is in relearn mode and
Tire Learning Active message
displays on the DIC screen.
4. Start with the driver side
front tire.
5. Remove the valve cap from
the valve stem. Activate the
TPMS sensor by increasing or
decreasing the tire’s air pressure
for 10 seconds,or until a horn
chirp sounds. The horn chirp,
which can take up to 30 seconds
to sound, confirms that the TPMS
sensor identification code has
been matched to this tire position.
6. Proceed to the passenger
side front tire, and repeat
the procedure in Step 5.
7. Proceed to the passenger
side rear tire, and repeat
the procedure in Step 5.
8. Proceed to the driver side rear
tire, and repeat the procedure
in Step 5.
9. After hearing the confirming horn
chirp, for the driver side rear tire,
the horn sounds two more times
to signal the tire learning mode is
no longer active. Turn the ignition
switch to LOCK/OFF.
10. Set all four tires to the
recommended air pressure
level as indicated on the tire
and loading information label.
11. Put the valve caps back on the
valve stems.
The tires air pressure will not
appear on the screen until you start
driving the vehicle

Thanks for showing the actual procedure. Because there seems to be some confusion amongst some of the troops. Since I have done this a few times I have read this over a few times too.

I have found it is easier to over inflate the tires to like 42 lbs. to start with and then bleed them down until you hear the horn. Then when completed go around and check the tire PSI. Much easier to bleed the tires down than it is to try and add air at every tire. Just my opinion.

Wow, read the manual, it's easy. Read what RickRay posted. This is it.

Leave the relearn alone unless you are moving wheels from one position to another.

Fill the tires cold and check pressure with a gage.

Make sure the car has been sitting in the shade so that all the tires really are at the same temperature and pressure.

After adjusting the pressure, drive for a minute or two, and the TPMS will show that all the tires are within 1 or 2 psi of each other.

I was close, Sorry, I was going by memory and apparently it was off a bit, but I had the general idea..... I believe I went the way you stated above, had to relearn from when I got my wheels powder coated!!!

I work with TPMs everyday and have since 1999. Relearning is only used to tell the car's computer where each tire is based on the TPMs signal. adding or removing air does not need the relearn process to be used. Only when the tires & wheels have been moved do you need to relearn.

I agree with RickRay. Regular or electronic pressure gages are the best reference. Those electronic devices should advise if the is a real difference in tire pressure in case of a slow leak or a flat tire.

Depending of the temperature the reading will varie and even on the sunny side of he car compared to the other side.

Completely agree. When I had a flat a couple months ago, I came out to my Camaro and the indicator told me that my drivers rear was low (17 PSI). I filled the tire and drove to a tire store, they found that I had a slice on the inside edge of the tire. It needed to be replaced.

Also, when I park at work and the sun warms up the one side of the Camaro the tires on that side are 2 - 3 lbs higher. After driving a couple miles they balance out.
