I think the look of the G8 is very classy. Comparatively, the Challenger is very classic. That comparison is up to your tastes.
The Challenger interior is also a matter of taste. A lot of people are disappointed that Chrysler interiors aren't each as unique as GM interiors. Once again, if you like one interior, you like them all, so that may not be such a bad thing. Performance is impressive in both. The feel is different, so you have to decide what you like about a given car's feel. Basically, the truth is that so much about a car is personal preference. Any animosity between Chevy guys and Dodge guys is a result of a history of competition, and it is all with respect. There are too many ways to judge a performance car to call one better on the whole. When it comes to getting a G8, Camaro, Mustang, Charger, Challenger, or any other American performance car, there isn't much of a right answer. You can go with who runs a better company to justify your loyalty (Ford or GM), avoiding historically racist companies (Ford—anti-Semetic), going with the one that started an important tradition (Dodge, Ford, or GM), one that mastered that very tradition (Dodge, Ford, or GM), the one with the fastest car (Dodge—Viper ACR) or any other qualifier. What you drive speaks volumes about you. If you buy a beater, then you care more about getting from point A to point B than how fast you get there or how you look on the way. If you buy an economy car, then you care about how you spend your money. If you buy a muscle car, then you are competitive. You don't get to say what your taste prefers. To some extent, your car decides who drives it. Ultimately, you are its master, and you decide when to buy, when to drive, when to clean, when to race, when to cruise, when to tour, when to go, and when to stop. In my case, the beater I drive says that I trust even a beaten Subaru to get me where I want to go, which includes a dream Camaro SS and a good job.

Wait for better deals.
...and get the R/T if you get one, not the SRT-8. The R/T is listed at 370-hp but it's closer to 390. You can make up the difference in performance between the R/T and the SRT-8 for a fraction of the cost of upgrading to the SRT-8. Last edited by DGthe3; 01-17-2009 at 02:34 PM. Reason: double post |
