Me too, I really like the new gt 500. GM has had enough time to get their head out of their ass, and build us a real car.

Yeah, that is pretty nice,i had something similar on my old BMW,it's great because if something breaks or if there is a problem,it lets you limp home or to the nearest shop without hurting the car anymore than you have to. Once the problem was fixed on my Bimmer,it never did it again. If it activates for no reason on a Mustang,well,sh@t happens sometimes, cars break, things go wrong. It isn't even near a common problem,if a problem at all,on the Mustang so i don't know what your point is...........unless you're promoting the safety features of a Mustang.....nice going Chevy salesman. Hey,give us some of the good points of a Challenger.

You can always feel safe in a Challenger. If anyone hits you, it'll barely leave a dent, but the other car will look like a crushed beer can.

You remind me of my best friends family. His dad is a die-hard GM guy, always owned GM products and would never consider a Ford at all. Like his father, my best friend grew up with the same bias. His first car was a 1978 Z28, mine was a 1966 Mustang V8 coupe. Whenever I visited his home, I always got ribbed about the Ford I drove at the time. The funny thing is, by best friends younger brother, brought home a 1986 Mustang GT and loved that car. Guess what, his family did not disown him.

I think you need to buy what you like and quit worrying what anyone else thinks, even your family. They might give you a hard time, but that goes with the territory. I can tell you that, from an owners perspective, the GT500 is a great car. I still get a smile on my face every time I drive it.

You know, I had a 2005 Mustang GT back when the S197 models were introduced and put 25K on it and never had any issues with the car that triggered the failsafe mode. I now have 20K miles on my car and, despite an aftermarket blower and tune, I have never once had the car go into failsafe mode. However, if it ever did, I would not consider that a bad thing, as it is designed to do so for a reason. KatarHol has already mentioned why. If you think your new Camaro won't have a "limp" mode built into the processor, I think you're kidding yourself.

A while back I saw a base MSRP of 50K. That would be enough to keep me back at the camaro.

Yeah, that's alittle much,i'd buy a used one though. Ford keeps moving the Cobra farther from the GT in performance and price, maybe they're getting ready for a nice 40K SE.....Mach 1 or maybe Boss?
I love the Shelby more, but for a new car,the SS has it completely beat on value.

Seriously, buy what you want with YOUR money. Who cares what everyone else thinks. I assume and hope your family would not disown you if you bought a Ford. Although, if they did over something as little as a car, your family needs to go see the looney doctor.

Example: My parents wish I wouldn't smoke/wouldn't of started smoking 5 years ago, but they havent treated me any different than before I started smoking. They just want whats best for me and for me to be healthy and I understand that totally but I'm addicted to nicotine. One day I will stop, one day.

.....Your parents/family will not disown you if you buy a car other than a GM product.

PS-to 'garagelogic', Your car looks sick man!

Dude, don't give in to brand bias. If you like the GT500 better, go with that; likewise, if you like the Camaro, go with that. Refusing to buy something you like better because you're biased against it is retarded.
