Odds are, there will be all new V8's for the 2013 MY, so I doubt they'll invest much into the LS3 between now and then. They were outselling the Mustang, the Mustang outsold the Camaro in October with 1500 dollars on the hood. The idea is to prevent be overtaken before it actually happens, not to wait until you lose the lead.

And Mustang has Boss 302 on the way, a slightly revamped GT500 that will likely be here about when the Z28 finally hits dealership lots, and strong indications that the GT and the V6 will both be mildly tweaked for the 2012 or 2013 model year.

I think GM's biggest problem is that they are still too slow to react to market realities.

If the gen V was going to show up for the 2012my you would almost certainly be hearing something about that already.

They can still bump the Z up to 380 to 400 HP with a single turbo and not knock on the GTR. They've pushed it above 500hp now. Not much different then the base corvette and the Z06/ZR1. Make the Z your bread and butter sports car with the GTR at the high end low production end of sales.

not to mention a higher horse power Z still wouldn't hold a candle to the GTR. it's more then just a high horse power car.. : P

and yes, release a v8 or turbo Z and I will head back to Nissan myself.
