Chinese have owned stake in GM before, no surprise that they'll buy some again.

Uhh ... Hummer is dead like Pontiac and Saturn. Nobody bought the brand, a Chinese heavy manufacturing company almost did but the deal fell apart roughly 9 months ago. The only brand I remember being sold to the Chinese was Volvo, but that was from Ford.

You really think Ford doesn't have any foreign stockholders?

Let's seeee i would have been about 5, so my thoughts would have been "Hey mister, do I get a cookie or not?!"

What everyone needs to realize is that every automaker owns some stake in another automaker. Maybe not a huge portion, but it's there.

About the Honda: It's cool you wanna save up for a 5th gen'
Camaro. Nonetheless the 8th gen' vics aren't too shabby. The
Hondas hold their ground well in their non-turbo class. I
drove these two ('07 Si Cpe and then '09 Si Sdn) and they
were a lot of fun to drive and to modify. Nevertheless
they've had nothing on my 5th gen' Camaro SS experience. (except for better fuel economy)

SAIC owing a piece of GM is essentially no big deal. Supposedly the amount they are looking to get is a single digit percentile. GM will in turn get a larger piece of SAIC than SAIC gets from GM. They already are partners in China. Personally.. I think GM has put out some of the best product of the last 30 years under Government ownership

Ironically the very same people who have constantly cried about the U.S. Gov owing a part of GM are now crying about the possibility of "other investors" owing a part of GM. If they REALLY think that European, Asian, Indian, Russian, Arab investors don't have many shares in Ford, Toyota, Benz... then they are sadly mistaken. What's even more ironic is the people who rant about the Chinese and Indians coming to the U.S., exclaiming Ford as our savior... fail to realize that Ford is the one company that has opened the gate to them selling here via it's Fire Sale of PAG to TATA, and Volvo to Geely.
