I'd go with plan B because that is essentially what I am doing. I can't afford the car I want now, I have something that will serve me without trouble for a few years then I get my Camaro.

The Cobalt SS SC is great! You get some turbo lag in the TC one, but more "kick in the ass feeling" when it kicks in. Wouldn't be a bad choice. Check out CobaltSS.net, a majority of us there are mature.

I voted 1SS/RS. Go with what you want in your car when you can, and you never look back. I wanted G85 (limited slip) in my SS SC when i ordered it, and didn't get it due to ordering difficulties. I miss my LSD, but am still supremely happy with the car, and it is something that can be changed out. (which i guess fits your Plan B) Headlights aren't that hard, if thats all you're looking for in an RS.

I am holding out for my 2SS/RS, whenever it comes. I am not even making plans beyond that because I know it is going to happen later this year.

PLAN: None of the above.

Don't hate me for what I'm about to say......but I have been wanting a Ferrari F360 Spider and the money I'm using (saved for 2 yrs now) to buy this car is coming from what I've saved for the Ferrari. I will not buy another GM car if I can not get the 2SS/RS that I have on order by May, June the latest.

I will go back to saving for one more year and then at that point buy a low miles (4K-5K) F360 Spider which is without a doubt one of the best driving, quickest vehicles I've ever had the pleasure of driving....not to mention a complete "p-magnet"!

Isn't that a little...harsh? You'd pass over an entire portfolio of kick-ass, class-leading vehicles because you couldn't get one within a time-frame you wanted?

I get the Ferrari thing. That's cool...

Option B. Get the 1SS. Let's face it, as cool as the RS package is, it isn't anything we couldn't do ourselves given enough preparation, time, effort, and a little extra cash. Headlights (especially if you get them through a dealer) are literally just plug and play. All body modifications and interior, especially sound system, can be done yourself, you just have to lower your head and do it. Plus, the extra work comes with the satisfaction that you are the one responsible for your own unique car. I personally believe nothing is lost with this option, but much is gained. You get the RWD V8 you wanted, you get alot of intimate time spent with your car, and the car reflects your own personal taste, being the canvas you have displayed your own creativity upon. Seems like a win win.
