I don't like crossovers. They're just stylized minivans with SUV suspensions. That being said, the interior is nice and it will sell to all those blind idiots who want a Cadillac but not an Escalade. I can't imagine how crossovers or minivans got such a calling. They're ugly, bland, and slow.

Get used to it...Escalade's probably going on Lambda in a few years.

It looks so good as it is. Why do they have to kill a good thing?

Also, its the same reason they made the Escalade in the first place; Crossovers sell. Just like SUVs did in the 90s. It's just a cycle of design and buyer attitude I'm afraid. But if you think about it, just imagine what they could do with the 2 mode hybrid system on the lambda platform?

Though I can see how it looks like a Murano, I..actually like it. Just needs a tweak on the headlights with a little more angle so as to etch away at the Murano-ness. I can't believe they got Caddy fins to work on this one. That alone was a "well will ya look at that?"

IMO this is where GM should start off when rehashing the Escalade for '14(or whenever).

Why not?

The current RWD SRX doesn't sell in very large quantities either. Neither does the BMW X5.

However, the FWD based lexus RX sells like hotcakes.

Really, the way I see this is going, the Lambda-based Escalade will end up being the true successor to the current 7-seater SRX. This new TE-based SRX is going after the RX, MDX, etc.

Correction: Seven Letters.
USA CAFE. Canada is not bound or abides by many of these same regulations as strictly as the states. But we still get stuck with it because we're your neighbors... and vehicles sold in the states and Canada must meet both regulations. Just an fyi.

Anyways, I LOVE this new SRX! The current SRX is nice, but a little dated now. I've been waiting for the new SRX for a while now (though i won't be getting one yet, because the Camaro is higher on my priority list.)
Call me what you want, but a lot of the new vehicles GM is popping out are great, front to back!

Because people are aware that gas will go back up soon, and therefore crossovers and SUVs don't have good sales potential.

I like it. Looks killer, and fits nicely with Caddy's new brand look.
Maybe when I have expendable money I'll get it.

But...
2.8L Turbo V6 at 300hp/295tq?!?!?!

NEW ENGINE ALERT?!! Sounds like GM's up to something....

On the contrary, crossovers are generally seen as welcome alternatives to big, gas guzzling SUVs. Hence the high sales of the Lambda crossovers. The 2010 Equinox is sure to be a hit at 30 MPG.

Not a new engine at all.

Saab uses it in a few cars.
