Based on purely practical considerations, I would have to go with ... a female engineer. Preferably a naval engineer, though I suppose I can't be too picky. Between the two of us, we would surely be able to figure out how to build an ocean going palm-tree raft. And if not, well ... thats why I want it to be a woman.

He didn't sleep in a hotel while filming his survival stories, or pull many crazy-ass stunts while in the middle of nowhere. He didn't even need a camera crew to film it (besides the pickup and drop-off).

btw, given your use of 'bloody mad' I would say that you'd accept his British accent soon enough.

Id almost want to say my dog, own personal heating pad [warmer body temp] they can sniff out food and hunt better, better company. Great hearing and defence against other animals n bugs. No girl screaming about a big azz spider, the dog just eats it.

Though they can't help you build or lift stuff or you.
medical issues would be dicy.
