She said he used to make fun of her and would not give her the time of day....He is still there in her home town and she is traveling the world and providing entertainment for millions....

Intelligence for me is a turn-on, but I'm met some people who I could uncharitably call 'dim' that were very sweet or had other positive qualities enough that I enjoyed being around them, so while I have a preference for high intellect a la CF, it's probably not a total deal breaker.

I've also met people that seemed shallow or mean, but were really just concerned with appearance to a greater extent than I was, or tended to be gruff, but weren't nearly as bad as their first impression once you got to know them. So while being shallow or a jerk is a negative thing for me, it depends on just how deep the tendency goes on whether it's a deal breaker.

What is a deal breaker to me, without much way around it, is this certain type of cruel selfishness that I don't think there's a particular word for...intense self-regard (which by itself can actually be a turn on...) combined with a completely (well, as complete as anything gets) lack of regard for anyone else.

I've met people like that, known people in relationships with people like that, etc. Have had the good fortune or sense to avoid any level of intimacy with said people, though.

Edit: And oh, I also love the bewbz.

Personality is utmost, If you can't be friends first and throughout, then there is no need to pursue anything else.... My wife is by far my best friend....
