I feel bad for the workers whose union would rather have them jobless than take a pay cut.

Well, there goes any chance I had of getting a job after graduation.

I can't believe that we give banks money after they screw themselves, but a government loan that's 1/35th the amount of the bank bailout to an industry that was choked by federal law is somehow unamerican and evil. BS.

This rejection will cripple the economy, America's allies' economies, the automakers, suppliers, and workers. Article is by Leftlane, the first to report on the vote's failure to pass.

Really surprised that the UAW just brought about it's own demise. GM's already contacted a law firm to start the Chapter 11 proces according to that article. I wonder how many calls the UAW is getting right now from disgruntled folks!!!

It's over as far as this remaining year is concerned.

And we start all over. I'm not sure if I want to blame politicians or the UAW for this. I'm thinking they each get 50% of the responsibility. Now is not the time for politicians to be making a point when they are contnent to throw money at banks... Nor is it the time for the UAW to play hardball.... I don't understand what the Union has to gain here unless they are just trying to force the hand of the politicians...

I just don't get it...

The white house was threatening to use part of the 700 billion dollars to help out the industry... hopefully they do.

They need Jay Leno to be the "Car Zar" not one of the typical Washington inside the beltway folks that Skeletor (Pelosi) wants.

If it was up to me I would trash every brand and even GM itself. And restructure the company as the "Chevrolet Motor Company". Getting rid of every other sub brand and model that's not selling.

The UAW could be playing chicken with the Politicians, but given what is at stake...why risk so much for what looks to be little gain?

The parasites have finally sucked the life out of the host, and will now die along with it. Good thing for
GM is that they can emerge from bankruptcy free of the parasites.
