Yes it does cover good points...

they can't do anything about speeding or breaking any moving violations unless they catch you in the act or have solid proof... But they can use the forums to locate areas to stake-out where people street race, etc.. ( which I have seen happen before)

gonna try and be nice, but if someone wasnt bright enough and post videos of them...say breaking the law, and also made themself identifiable via Lisc plate # then you can bet they could be watching you...cause that evidence can be used in court.

I doubt any automaker is that stupid to put a clutch that can't handle the power in any sports car.

I would say theirs, not unless they could actually prove it was your car..via vin#, Lisc plate, real name, etc..

if you use screen names, and just a pic of your car... they have to prove that the pic is actually your car and not one that looks like it...

how many GT500's were made your color?

Here is the one thing that will get you in your case.

A clutch is a "wearable" item...such as brake pads, oil, tires, etc... these are not usually covered by warranty..now if it went out in the first 500-1000 miles I could see where it could have been defective. But with almost 10k on the car... that may be questionable..

not saying you at all, but someone who may have never driven a standard before could wear a clutch out by riding it all the time. this isnt the automakers fault... so therefore it shouldnt be covered. This could happen in any car.

I was thinking about this too. Most offer a 12 month/12000 mile warranty at best on clutches.

Mine was putting down about 510RWHP. I had the mods on for 2k of the 9400 miles. I know guys with Kenny Bells putting down way more power and 50+ passes with no issues.

Bottom line is I'm not a drag racer by any means. Only been once with the car and that was for fun and not for competition. If I was beating the crap out of my car I wouldn't even be posting this.

It can't handle an extra 40 or 50 RWHP? Idk about that.

Theirs.

If you were to take it to court the posting on the internet wouldn't stand up in court. Doubt it is worth it to go that far though.

not to be the asshole of the thread... but a lot of these types of threads tend to have another "hidden" side (the G8 illegal tail light thread comes to mind)

Nothing hidden bro, tell me what you want to know? I'd be more than happy to answer any questions.

This is a pretty common situation at dealerships though. Any sign of racing they will void the warranty.

My friend was dumb enough to take his vette to the dealership for some warranty work(window motor I believe), with rubber on the back of the car. They fixed the problem but noticed rubber on his rear quarter panel and told him his powertrain warranty was no longer good.

He did fight with them and they ended up honoring his warranty.

He shouldn't have took the car in without cleaning the rubber off.
