Well now they're replacing them with turbo'd v6 engines or very powerful V6 engines at the very least. I mean when the Charger came out it had 340 HP, now manufacturers are making V6 engines that have nearly the same torque and HP numbers without any turbocharger/supercharger systems. Granted the torque curves on V6 engines typically aren't as fun as the V8's but your average sedan buyer isn't going to test the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times regularly.

With that said, I can't believe they're making another Fast and the Furious. Can't they come up with another movie plot that combines hot babes and cars? Lets be honest, nobody watches the Fast and Furious for the script writing or the storyline...

They might be approaching those power levels, but they're down over 100 ft-lbs of torque. Modern NA V6's have a hard time matching the torque of V8's from 20 years ago.

There really aren't that many turbo v6 large sedans either. A large sedan doesn't need to be all that fast, and I'll admit some new v6s can be quite fast. What a large sedan needs is a feeling of effortless-ness.

It was said that the pentastar v6 was gonna get T or TT but I don't see than happening for a while.. at least for the next few years maybe

Evidently they had a CTS-V on hand for testing..looks like they have a benchmark to test against.

But if we apply Z28 logic to that..then ZOMG 2012 SRT8 kills CTS-V!! OMG!!

But we all know it wont

It's possible that it will. You had some people shout ZOMG GT KILLS M3!! And that is sorta right.
