The Indy police chief demoted a few subordinates this week after the DUI charges were dropped, sounds like "damage control" at public relations...

I know LEOs personaly who drink and drive, EVEN in their patrol cars. AND on duty. Hard to believe, but it's true. Not sure there is anything can be done about it. Really sucks.

One was found ON DUTY parked in a local speed trap hiding spot, passed out drunk. They coudn't get him to answer on the radio, and when he did, he was hard to understand.

He did NOT get fired. Placed on leave with pay. 2 weeks. Came back and did it again. He was given the chance to go to rehab without pay and then report BACK TO DUTY upon completion of a rehab stint.

HE REFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only then was he fired.

The FBI won't touch it yet. The SBI would be the ones investigating it.

Well, once again, I hope we all understand that there are bad apples everywhere and in ALL areas of society. It is imperitive that LE Agencies try and keep it quiet. I will never blame them for that. It only makes sense. BUT, this one seems to have been botched from the beggining. Looks like it may go further so justice may be served in the end.

I will bash the bad apples as needed, but I will be careful to not blanket them all with my sentiments.

(and Tag could ban me )
