When I was 11 and living in Germany (Army brat) one of the soldiers who lived in the housing across from us, had a Red 74 Camaro...I worshiped that car everyday, it was so stock and B-E-A-Utiful.

Then, state side, in 1983 I fell in love with a 1973 Green~n~Gold Metallic TypeLT camaro, ordered special with a Z28 Hyperformance package...I bought her for $2600...god I miss my ladies:(

at 27. last year, when I saw the camaro concept for the first time.

I thought" hummmmmmm ... looks MEAN! I want one to kick their peugeot, renault, citroen, mazda, VW and toyota asses ..."

French and japanese cars are for family guys, italian for gay men, german for street warriors and american cars are for cool dudes!

ps: coz' honestly, out of the first gen, camaros are pretty ugly cars!
just like the mustang. out of the 1971, mustangs sucks.
Ponch's golden firebird in Chip's was pretty cool too.

No, his is silver...and I don't "drive" it per say. It's still his, but it's the closest Camaro to me, so I listed it...

when i was about 13 i found a picture of my mom who was a mechanic back in the day and her first car was a 76 camaro which wasnt fast enough for her so she had a stingray engine dropped into it, so she said, but ever since i saw that picture i've always wanted one

I must honestly say, my first memory of wanting a Camaro was three years ago. I was reading a Hot Rod mag that was featuring all the generations of the Camaro. They had a 1969 white Z-28 peeling out with the nose standing up racing against...what else...a mustang. My buddy says thr HR mag is pro-chevy anyway, but seeing the shape and the physique of the Camaro struck me like a Mack truck. And when Chevy showed the concept last year, that capped it. Now, that I see how bad the concept will look in motion after seeing the Transformers movie, I am now dedicated to this being my first Camaro.

I have had the love for camaros since I was old enough to know what a car was because my dad has only owned Camaro's and through my lifetime only two. He had a white 85 Z28 that I was absolutely in love with because as a child I remember it being so loud and he drove it fast. He swapped the engine for I think the 5.7 TPI in place of the 5.0 and sadly one day in 96 or 97 it went up in flames outside of the neighhborhood because of a fuel leak . I was devestated for a short while until I went with him to the chevy dealer and drove out with a black M6 96 Z28! He still drives this car daily and its pushing 190K miles on original engine and tranny! a few weeks ago it was hit by a truck and damaged the driver side mirror and front quarter panel but its still alive and kicking. My uncle also had one but it was a non-running 2nd gen v6(I-6??) and it had rust holes throughout the car and was called the cracked car by me and my sis when were a lot younger(1994-1995ish, lol).

first love for camaros....

well i had a friend who owned a 3rd gen firebird that sat in his garage and i just fell in love with all f-bodies, and so i sold my car (02' saturn sc2, i got 6,000) and bought it, i mean i just LOVE THIS CAR, it has 89,000 miles on a 92' formula that aint bad but ever since i've had respect for all f-bodies and am looking forward to getting a convertible in 2011 or 2012 (gotta save, the airforce dont pay so well)

In 1971 I sold my 55 Chevy daily driver. I wanted a 62 Corvette, but couldn't afford one. I was 37 years old and had a family, so I started looking for a 69Camaro. I wanted an SS with cowl induction. I found an 69 SS396 in the parking lot where I just started a new job. I found the owner and 1 month later I was it's new owner. I was the second owner of a 9800 mile 69 SS396 Olympic Gold Camaro with cowl hood, M21 close ratio 4 speed, console gages and 3:55 posi rear. All this for $2000. I owned it for 34 years. I gave it to one of my sons two years ago. See pic below.
