Holy shit that's insane. Guess all they really did was toss in a new engine.

Owner has already admitted to having a kit on the car at the track. Claims they never shot it though...

PS. 100-150 wet shot with VP109 for a fuel probably doesn't need a new tune if it's set up correctly.

I never heard that.

I heard that they wanted to hook up a nitrous kit and the owner said no.

Do you have a link that the car had a Nitrous kit already installed?

If so please provide it.

A quote that I agree with on this subject:

"1. Find online performance calculator.

2. Plug in weight and trap speed.

3. Realize that it wasn't a retail vehicle.

Numbers don't lie.
Tires don't create power. More hp=more trap.
Tires don't =more trap. "

Linky that I could find. Don't mind the site, the thread was started by a die hard Hemi guy.

Thanks for the response.

The guys that are in contact with the driver are calling BS on a nitrous kit on the car.

They say the car was not even fitted with a Nitrous kit.

They repeat that they asked the owner if they could try putting on a nitrous kit and the owner told them no way.

They say the car was only going 10.9's until the driver paddle shifted the gears himself......then it went 10.4 and a 10.5

They claim that was the biggest difference along with all the traction controls off.

If it turns out they were actually spraying I will be the first to post that up.

Right now it's just an internet rumor.

That's cool. Do the math just for fun. Then let the laws of physics guide you. Lol

I posted this last July. Adding 140 lb for driver. Perfect theoretical ET is Dodge claim of 10.8 on DR.

I think nitrous is very unlikely. It would be for pure bragging rights and totally stupid. I mean you really have a problem if you are buying a 707hp car and want to put a nitrous kit on it to brag about a hero run.

On another note, I'm thinking a 50-75hp wet shot would do the trick for the difference in ETs/mph. BUT, dry shot? that would be a big guess since nobody knows what are the limit of the stock injectors/fuel pump and you need to tune that too, unless running race gas but still a huge guess on a brand new car to take IMO.

I would not be surprise that this car runs on the safe side and pulling timing on regular gas. I mean, warranty with 707hp from factory!!?? You gotta have a safe tune to last years/miles!!

There shouldnt be zero hate about this car!!! It does whats is supposed to do in a great way!! ..and at that price!! WOW! Congrats Dodge!! Me wants!

Well considering they are dynoing 675+rwhp bone stock, the 707 is probably not the correct number to you in there.

That was the point of "do the math". To run 133 MPH you'd need 875 HP or ~750 at the wheels

Just to follow up, here is a cut and paste of the answer to the nitrous rumor.
I posed the question directly to someone who is in touch with the people involved with this.
Here was his response:
.................................................. .................................................. ..................
"I had mentioned this earlier but I did ask them about nitrous and they did say that nitrous was an original goal but all parties stated the same:

The car was never sprayed. Period. There's no mystery shot of go go juice. The car is simply that damn fast.

After they popped the driveshaft with good old fashioned dodge power any thoughts of trying to hit it with nitrous were gone.

I say again: spray was never used on any of the runs. I specifically asked!!

While Burns Motors is in fact a dodge dealership, the driver is non brand specific. Just a layed back motorhead willing to drive anything they put in front of him. The shop that put the tires on and worked with the driver to learn the car is a customizing shop with a primary business if lighting. As in if you take a look at some of the lights, they have a Hellcat symbol embedded in them. They are non biased to any brand.

The reason you didn't see much information from any of these guys directly but instead I had to go get it is because none of these guys were out to prove anything in particular. They were just having fun and really didn't quite realize what they had accomplished. WE know what they accomplished. They were simply out to have some fun. The car just happens to be bad ass. We have probably put a little more realization into the whole feat. Like I said, all these guys are layed back cool dudes with nothing to prove"
