The news feed is legit. Pete Williams is a DC correspondent. Don't know how old it is tho.

The coroner said the rifle was used in the killings. Can a coroner tell the difference between a 223 & 9mm pistol wound?

It's not a shotgun. You can see the guy pulling the side charging handle at the start and I've never seen a shotgun with a side charging handle.

Also personally I highly doubt that it is a AR-15. I've never seen a AR-15 that looked like this. Also look at how the guy is holding the gun. If it was an AR he wouldn't be holding it this way.

He wouldn't be trying to clear the gun from the side either. Got ak all over it. Or a dragunov.

Old Browning auto shotguns were sidekocking..... don't look like ar15, but does appear to be separate butt/pistol grip. No idea.
