Happy Tuesday Evening All!

I've been crazed the last several days trying to get some traction on my mini-remodel and today may have been the turning point. With any luck, the wardrobe conversion will be complete by the time bext week. Yippee!

I was feeling under the weather earlier but I'm better now after taking some motrin and eating some chips, with salsa so hot, it'll kill anything.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Got another good letter from FAA and another step closer to getting the feathers back. Have a physical to pass next week and then a formal Review begins. Hoping for a great 2013.
Again sorry didn't get to meet up on your trip down here Diane. See you in May.

How you doing LBM?
How you feeling Jay?
Hope everyone else is well.
Going back and taking in yesterday's tunes. CYA.
Sorry for your losses Skyman. Good vibes headed your way.

Glad to hear things are progressing well with the FAA.

I'm feeling pretty good now. I just tire a little quicker than usual and have one little issue that is still making itself a bit of a nuisance. But, It'll heal and I'll be fine. Thanks for asking.

Sorry I've been away for awhile. Been sick. Won't go into any details, but I'm planning to go back to work tomorrow, so I'm feeling better now.
Reason I mention this is because my experience highlights one of those screwy things about life that leaves you scratching your head:
I had the most painful sore throat I've ever had. (And I've had a lot of them; used to get strep a lot as a kid.) So painful I couldn't eat or drink anything. So what does the doctor perscribe for me? These 875mg monsters.

Yeah, it's bigger than a penny!

It's funny now. Anyway-

Got my fingers crossed for you Skyman!
And Monicatomokc, here's one you can take to work. The FAR folks should get a good laugh out of it (if they haven't heard it already.):

A few years ago I went to an aeronautical conference and convention where the celebrity keynote speaker was Cliff Robertson. (Remember him?)
Now for those that don't know, Cliff Robertson was a big time pilot in real life.
He was in France filming a movie for a periond of time. To occupy his free time he would fly around the countryside in a private plane. At some point it occurred to him that he was not familiar with French civil aviation rules. He wondered what the minimum altitude for flight was allowed while he was sightseeing. He asked around, but no one seemed to know. He later made a point to visit an officer of the French government to ask him the question. The government official seemed distracted and resentful of the intrusion. He made the pretense of attempting to find the answer, then without looking up, gave the answer as if he had just made it up "Eight feet."
Robertson was incredulous "Eight feet! Why eight feet?"
The French bureaucrat looked up at him and said "Because Monsieur, there are no eight foot Frenchmen!"

Good morning or goodnight gang. and Thank you.
Sorry some of you and your loved ones are under the weather. Guess the Flu Virus is running rampant too. Gary That is one of the biggest Pills have ever seen Just the thing you want to try to swallow.Wow.
Gary had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the late Cliff Robertson a numbers of years ago at Key West. He played the late TreasureHunter Mel Fisher in a movie called Dreams of Gold. Glad you are feeling better. Same goes for you Linda. Good luck with your project.

Wish I could put in a good word at CAMI when they start your review. We have tunnels that connect several of the main buildings here on the Aeronautical Center (they're primarily used for tornado shelter when/if the time comes) and I walk them for a 30 minute exercise walk every day and pop in CAMI every once-in-a-while. See a lot of them walking down there too, but I don't know anyone that works there. Good luck!!
Thanks. First time in along time have a good feeling about this so hopefully will have great news within a month.

Have a good morning all. Slowly catching up.

Glad you are feeling better Gary. I hope you broke that monster in half before you tried to get it down!

As for the 8 ft. altitude limit, what if a Frenchman was standing on a ladder?..........

Yep, he was one of several great celebrity spokespersons for aviation back a few (many) years ago along with Danny Kaye, Arthur Godfrey and we will never forget John Denver. Of course we have Harrison Ford and John Travolta bearing that torch today.

Ah the French... Don't get me started... I've had a couple of experiences dealing with their "my way or the highway" attitude with some of our work trying to harmonize with ICAO Standards, hence my opinion that the reason the US has many filed differences with ICAO SARPs. They tend to be quite vocal and seem to get their way more often than not. Enough said...
