Looking good Bonnie!! Sprinting is the best, me and Skip do it on warm days so as not to tick off his asthma.
Thanks and good job on the cardio girl!

Good for you!! Keep it up!!

Cringe is probably an understatement!

Abs are made in the kitchen!! No matter how much cardio and ab exercises you do, you will always have a nice ugly layer of fat on your abs if you don't eat right!

Way to go Bonnie!!

------------------

Welp, today I ran 10 miles in 1 hour, 36 minutes and 58 seconds. I set out to run 12 miles, but at around 8 miles my IT band started to ache so I just went to 10. I'm supposed to be easing up on my mileage this week anyway because I am running a half marathon next weekend.

I have my PT test on Tuesday....it consists of a a waist measurement, 1 min of sit ups, 1 min of pushups and a mile and a half run. I got a 99 last year (out of 100)...I can never run fast enough to ace it. Seems funny with all the running I do that I can't ace it!! I just never focus on speed drills as much as I should...I'm always more focused on the long haul. Maybe one of these days I will focus on speed more and get that 100!!
indurance is way more important than speed, and I would say 10 miles in an hour is doing damn good girlfreind! Good luck on your test tuesday!

I know...bad habits from childhood. My mother grew up extremely poor and barely had enough to eat. She made a promise to herself that when she got old enough to buy her own food, she would eat what she wanted, when she wanted. That also applied to her children. If I wanted a bowl of ice cream for breakfast, no questions asked. Although, I had crazy eating habits growing up, I was one of the lucky ones that could eat anything I wanted and be as skinny as a rail. Two kids later and getting older hasn't really slowed my metabolism down, but I certainly don't exercise as I should. I definitely want to head off the bad stuff before it's almost unrepairable.

I tried to eat a more healthy diet in the past and actually gained weight. . . LOL...

Thanks for the advice. I will at least try a couple of healthy snacks a day at least.

Okay, I made some good moves today. My weights are in the house from the shed & set up for me to start using them. I went shopping & bought some new healthy lunch items & some chicken breasts, vegies & other good stuff to cook some more healthy lunch & supper optiopns. I bought needed items & mixed/portioned out in individual baggies a new healthy trail mix to take to work for my snacks & for evening snacks too.
the new trail mix was this:

one bag pecan halves
one bag walnut halves
one bag dried mixed cherries, cranberries & blueberries
one bag almonds
1/2 bag dark chocolate covered raisins

portioned with a ladel into individual baggies. makes 20 baggies of trail mix

I'm going to class every day this week, starting my weight training and staying out of the front office where everyone is bringing all their Christmas candy & junk!

thanks! yeah it actually has not been that hard, i cheat a lot on the weekends but i can work it off during the week. i feel as though i could of lost more if it was not for that. i blame that coming from an italian family where we are forced to eat lol

sticking to water, no eating anything pass 9 p.m, more fruits and veggies, no fast food, and eating a LOT less! plus working out about 5 times a week.

Welp, missed getting a 100% on my PT test by 13 friggin seconds!!!

Good news is I still improved over last year....lost 20 pounds, shaved off about 30 seconds on my run and a half inch off my waist.

Maybe next year I will actually focus on speed work and get that 100!

Congrats Donna, thats awesome, and look at it this way, if you made 100% you wouldn't have anything to work toward for next year! and those are huge improvements!! You go girl!

My workouts today:

Day 2 – Tuesday – Shoulders/Triceps

3 x 50 side lateral raise – rest 1 min

3 x 50 rear pulses – rest 1 min

3 x 50 cheer press – rest 1 min
3 x 50 rope pushdowns – rest 1 min

3 x 50 db nose crushers – rest 1 min

Only had enough time for 20 min. on my stairclimber but I raised the intensity and holy bejesus, talk about a great workout, this was a change I needed, high intesity rocked and I burned almost as many calories! WooooHoooo!!!!

My shoulders and triceps already feel sore, all my clients are going under the hood dryer today! lmao!!!
