my boys went out and shot my twin turbo GTO in some very dark conditions...

this is what the eye saw:

a long 20 sec. exposer with a fast prime, some led lights...

as the sun went down, the colors of the GTO popped with the 24 megapixel Sony..

After my first trip to Europe, my dad told me I had "the eye", but that my little point and shoot camera was too crappy, and got me a really nice Minolta (film - it was 1994, digitals were still a dream for us amateurs) for Christmas that year. It got me headed in the right direction. To this day, though, some of my best pics are the ones that I go "Oooo, that's pretty!" and point and shoot. It makes me wonder what I could be capable of if I really put the time and effort into it...

One more for the day: an interior shot of the Alhambra - the detail of the ceilings had me pointing the lens up a LOT!

All great pictures! I'm sure we've all had disappointments too. Here's one from today.

I may try again after my son get's done mowing the lawn.

Here's one picture that was taken with my really crappy camera instead of my Canon. But I still really like it because of what's in the picture.

Right in the center is Space Shuttle Atlantis on the launch pad 39A. She launched for the final Space Shuttle Mission ever the next day.

I like the space shuttle picture. I like the cloud formations in the sky.

Here is a picture I took with a point-and-shoot camera at about 2 to 2 1/2 optical zoom. It's a little chapel high up in the Swiss Alps. I don't know how they even got building materials up there!

Goodness, you all have been busy in here!

Cam, to reference a few of your thoughts a few posts back....

I have absolutely no problems lending equipment or experience to serious shooters. What I don't like is handing out my hard learned knowledge to some goob that will forget everything as soon as they walk away. I have never understood why some photogs are like that, almost like they take things a bit too seriously!

I had a wedding I did this weekend, I will get some shots up from that later.
