As of this morning he says he wants the truck back and whatever he FEELS needs to be fixed he will do, otherwise he ain't doing nothing. So the legal process will start.

That way it can be less stress, which I'm sure you are full of.

I had to miss last year's f-body gathering...so I didn't get to meet you. I won't be missing this years!
I fully expect the court system to drag out and really if I do get a judgment he will file bankruptsy and refuse to pay...which will cause more court.....I just feel like a total idiot and maybe if someone reads this thread they will not fall into the same trap as I did.

F-Body will be great ...can't wait to meet you this year.

If I wasn't on tapatalk I would post the Startrek "it's a trap" meme. But yea, it's a trap. Start the ball rolling on the legal process and the lawyers handle it.

Not a problem, I'm more than happy to help. I don't think the court system will drag this out. It's a pretty cut and dry case IMO. But what I know, I'm not a lawyer, just stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Ok Sorry for all that but I kinda wanted to explain where I had been from.

December 13, 2011 Tuesday

Matt had to baby sit so I was on my own tonight I decided to changed the passenger side header gasket...We changed the drivers side the night before.

I will say this is a PITA....my biggest fear in doing this was breaking the header bolts off in the aluminum heads. Since I had this fear I am unsure if they are really tight but Matt can check that later.......
The way this thing is set up you have to remove the valve covers, spark plus wire retaining system plus the PCV valve and hoses.

It took me a little over an hour to get this done. While I had the valve covers off I cenaed then up and shined the chrome.....It is sickening at the amount of scratches in the motor chrome....just sickening.

I also did a little research on the whole rear end thing and found out that when you lower this truck that it puches the rear end rearward, thus the rear wheels are not centered in the rear fender. Cosmetically looks wrong/bad.

Then man I talked with said that EVERYBODY know this and it should have been taken care of when it was built.........Now I had the trailing arms boxed for strength which will make this a real PITA to fix........The trailing arms have to be shortened.

So I am looking at buying a junkyard set , cutting then down, boxing them and then re-painting them......Same thing with the front spindles....Since the spindle was stripped I would feel more confident in replacing them than just trying to re-thread them.

Matt made one ground cable and has to make two more and we will install them once he gets them made. This should clear up the cranking and running issues......HOPEFULLY

Just read through your thread John, and I can honestly say... I know what you're going through. I'm "merely" on 5 years for the restauration/upgrading of my TVR Tuscan, but had my fair share of frustrations as well so far.

This is a great lesson for anyone looking at having a 'project' done.

Just go with someone really well known and pay the extra, because it never really ends up costing more.

F5....trust me I do not like writing it but as you say it is something I must do...kinda like therapy

One thing is for certain though and it keeps my sanity straight.....I have my truck in my possession, each thing that I do everyday is being done correctly and eventually it will all be finished.

Funny thing is I contacted Chip Foose, Boyd Coddington and Troy Trepanier about building this truck....neither would contact me back.

Oh, I understand fully.
When the engine went, I took it to the only Belgian TVR dealer... who said he wouldn't do the rebuild as he would need to give me 2 yrs full warranty.

So I took it to one of the biggest known TVR dealers in the UK, where it still is. Much to their credit though, I have to admit that they're excellent in terms of engineering. I started out with a standard engine rebuild, but along the way I met a supercharger on their office floor, which I insisted on, would end up in my car... I knew it would take time, but didn't expect this long.

Last year we were pretty close to get the thing finished, but when I had it for a few days to run it in, the gearbox broke down. I took it back to the UK, and then heard that their cylinder head manufacturer came up with a new design, but unfortunately his plant burned down in a big fire in the industrial zone he was located in. More than a year extra delay in the manufacturing of it (in the meantime my cylinder head and some other components were sold on).

And a few weeks ago they called that they're not going to meet one of my requirements (600bhp from the SC'ed engine), and are going to build a BIG redesigned engine from basically scratch... so another few months setback to get it running...

So yeah, I understand that after 109k and 9 years, the frustration must be immense... So purely out of principle, I'd start the legal actions on him, and go all the way. Nail that Mo... to the floor

That being said... I think that truck must look awesome once it's up to the standards you clearly want it to be
