Oddly enough, from what I've read, ABL across the dash was in the original plan from GM. At the last minute, just as they went to production, the powers that be changed their minds and the dash ABL was never installed. No reason that I know of has ever been given. But one piece of evidence remained. Apparently at least some, maybe all, of the 2010s have the power plug for the absent lights mounted under the dash. Some people that do their own ABL actually tap into this plug.
Some speculate that somewhere, in some forgotten GM warehouse, the components are sitting on a shelf collecting dust. Just waiting to be discovered and sold to the public.

Thanks Jay! I'm just running a little late today. I'm glad I used a week's vacation to attend SEMA, the SEMA Dinner, a cruise to Red Rock Canyon with Apex Chase, Paul and Victoria, a small group of locals and Vince and just hang out and soak up lotso 5th gens.

Now I need a vacation from my vacation.

Happy Friday all. Looks like I am a bachelor for the next few days. My wife is a volunteer in a local organization SMART (Special Medical Alert Response Team). She got the call today to be sent to NYC to assist in the relief efforts there. She left this afternoon and will return late Tuesday.

Then Wed morning I am leaving to work in our Michigan office through Friday and maybe into Saturday. Then we are home till Wed or maybe Thursday afternnon when we pack up the Camaro and head to North Carolina where I will work in our plant there till Friday. Then we leave for vacation from there and head to the Tampa, FL area to visit her sister for the week. Then back home and I will clean up the Camaro and put it away for the winter.

Thankfully we did not get any serious effects from Sandy here except a week of rain and cold and virtually all of the leaves off the trees are now on my lawn. I will be spending most of my day tomorrow cleaning them up.
