Good Morning all! Welcome f5journal!

Jeanette, I can't wait to see those new wheels on Ladybug.

Rick, when you're done with your car will you detail mine too, lol?

It rained steadily here overnight complete with lightning and thunder and looks like we might be in for more.

Have a great day all!

Well my younger brother joined the Camaro family today. Ordered a 2013 2lt/rs convertible. He jokingly said to me I got to get one now before you have used them all. I do admit 3 in one year is a bit extreme. O well Men and they're toys

OK, should I take the high road and let it be, or should I confront my relative (a much older uncle)?

VERY long story short, a relative wanted advise from me on whether to fix an older car that was VERY close to a total loss, or take the money and run. After listening to him, looking at his pictures that he snail-mailed to me , I made my recommendation to take the money and run. Gave him LOTS of advise on how to prop up the actual cash value of his car and told him to NOT take the other party's first offer.

Well, he did none of that, and now has a repaired 1999 Avalon with high miles. Now he has called me and keeps emailing me justifying why they did what they did.

I really don't care about the decision he made, but now he's scratching at my last nerve with today's email containing multiple sentences explaining why they decided to do what they did, how nice their junker is now, and how much a new one is. He ends his email with ONE SENTENCE asking how we are doing.

To me, he really does not give a crap, only wants me to accept his decision. I don't care, it's his car, his money (he'll have more than I EVER will!) but I really take offense to the "afterthought" of my family and me.

Not sure if I should reply to him stating I don't care about the whole car thing, to drop the whole car thing, or to ignore it all, reply that we are fine, and leave it at that.

BTW, he's WAY older than me, and I can not call him because he thinks it is long distance for me to call his home phone with my cell phone.

If it were me I would just let it go and reply that the family is fine. It does not sound worth starting an argument over.

But I get it how that feels. I'd just leave it at venting to us and let it go.

My vote is with Zandron. Your relative sounds like he is trying to justify his decision to himself by trying to get you to agree with him. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. Just tell him you and yours are fine.

There's nothing to be gained here by doing anything other than smiling and telling him that you're glad he's happy with his decision.
