JOE, thanks for the insight. I agree with what you are saying about the Z06 having a better chance due the variables you mentioned.

The rest of the testing has been done in press pool sessions with folks who have no idea how to launch such a high horsepower vehicle. Give owners some seat time and and you will see the low 11s advertised by the automatic cars.

Don't worry man, there will be excuses rendered efficiently and quickly when owners post good times.

I predict the response to that video will be.....

"It's still not 11.2 and it's down in MPH hurr a durr Dodge lies flap flap Failcat lolololol"

With only 6-speeds being shipped, that will take awhile. When are the Automatics expected to start their build/ship?

They're in JS status right now. Out of the factory in a holding yard.

My guess is they'll ship after Thanksgiving but before the plant Christmas shutdown

No. That simply showed what a poor result MT got with the track and car used. Nothing more. Nothing less. The Hellcat press fleet was flogged 'n flogged, but an embargo was in place. The Edmunds 6-speed time was, unfortunately, the ONLY 6-speed time finally released, and that one (run by John Pearley Huffman, formerly of Car Craft Magazine, a drag race-oriented mag) was embargoed for just about a month. You'll have to ask FCA why so few 6-speeds (embarrassment?) and such a time delay (after orders were opened up?!) were in place. That one is on them.

BTW, other press members have driven the 6-speed (Hot Rod for one), but NO TIMES have ever been released. Hmmm.

NO Thanksgiving hold-up in Canada. Theirs is in October, the same weekend as Columbus Day. Why the delay? EPA compliance?

More so I was thinking of the shipping lines, not so much the Canadian aspect, good point.

The latest words that I hear from my sources in Detroit that may or may not be employed by a company there...

Is that the autos are in hold for a number of reasons, final QA for one. The CTF cars, most of which were autos, reported some issues that have been solved in the CTF cars and are being incorporated into the cars going down the line right now.

The A8 Hellcats that have been built are sitting in holding waiting for the retrofit parts, but limited availability has seen a slight delay in getting them done. It's specifically something related to the A8 transmission which is why the M6 cars have been released.

Maybe they're waiting for the trans-brake parts to show? That'll get them low 11s, EPA-compliant.

Funny how a ZL1 on the fast list ran 11.5 and a few 11.7's and not to mention all the good passes that haven't been reported but it's average time seems to be called a 12.3.
I can pretty much guarantee the very first owner that hits that 11.2 every hello kitty blow hard will be claiming that's its average. Lol. Oh most of them already are.

The 11.4 that I quoted was Cars.com I had to go back but found the Time slip that cars.com had, IT WAS NOT an onboard estimate you are so fast to try and put everyone in their place, rather than have a discussion you want brow beat everyone.

Here is the link it was a mule we will need to wait and see what the guys with the Hellcats are running but I would bet that many with DR will be in the 10's

http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...the-strip.html

I guess we should add that time to your times you have posted

Cars.com: 1/4mile 11.4 @ 122.31mph;automatic
MotorTrend: 0-60, 3.7sec; 1/4mile 11.7 @ 125.4mph; 4449lbs automatic
Car&Driver: 0-60, 3.6sec; 1/4mile 11.7 @ 126mph; 4488lbs automatic
Edmunds: 0-60, 4.8sec; 1/4mile 12.5 @ 118.8mph; 4454lbs
Road&Track: 0-60, 3.9sec; 1/4mile 12.0 @ 124.8mph; 4458lbs

There I fixed it for you.

I would think with 3 different 0-60mph stopping distances we should average them to 104 for the Camaro and 105 for the Challenger

Seems like this one slipped through the cracks... http://www.challengertalk.com/forums...38/index2.html Post #19.

The Hellcat thing is just so confusing in terms of shipping. Like the fact that the Hellcat Jay Leno presented to the wounded vet has a sunroof...but they are not being produced yet..

Thing is Chevy claimed to have run 11.93 and was called bs even though ZL1 hero runs are in the 11.5 - 11.7 range with Big Dave's video clearly showing 11.7 on stock tires.

With the above criteria, a Hellcat hero run should best the Dodge claim of 11.2 by several 10ths on street tires.
