Why do Mustang owners have so much hate towards Camaro owners?

I think Mustang Owners just don't care.

I've actualy often felt the same way. I've yet to meet one wether driving or standing that wasn't a cool guy. Of course I aknowlege their car and usually they know too. But the GT guys have had a higher percentage of A-holes.

Thank you! I still am confused as to why my dad, proud owner of a Orange 2010 2SS Camaro is hesitant to go to the track just once to race me in my 2003 Mustang GT. He was hesitant before with his '78 Corvette, n that for the lack of better words has no balls for a 350. Now he has a Brand new bone stock V8 Camaro, a little over 100HP over me (i have a few mods n run a 13.60 (soon to be low 12's, not FI or spray) at the track and still wont race me! His excuse is : A) I dont want to make a fool out of you! SO WHAT MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME, AT LEAST I TRIED! B) By the time i cross the finish line ill turn around and wave at you when you reach half way! OMG JUST RACE ME FOR FUN!! anyone PLEASE help me understand him, trying to get him out to the track or just a fun cruise is like pulling teeth!

Granted, the way I form my opinions is different than most because all of my opinions are formed after the supercharger install. Stock does not register in my brain.

The new (2005+) Mustang is a great platform that becomes a LOT of fun once the blower is installed. They drive and handle great, have good potential, and are much more comfortable than previous body styles. There is a ton of aftermarket support for these cars, and many options are available to purchase already enhanced from a Dealership near you. I have one as my daily driver...you can check it out in my garage.

Any Mustang guy who bashes the new Camaro, I would have to ask them "Have you actually ever driven one?" Honestly, they feel very similar to the newer Mustangs in a lot of ways, and supercharged they are AMAZING. These things perform so well supercharged that I have had more than one Vortech Supercharged Camaro driver inform me that their cars are so fast it is scary. The LS3's potential is basically a thing of legend, and additional power gains can be obtained easily. I don't think I need to go into any other specifics on why these cars are great, right? This is a Camaro forum, after all...

All of the ST8 cars (Challenger, Charger, Magnum, 300C) are all cool, but to me feel more suited as cruisers. They are spacious, very comfortable, and have the potential to make good power. Once supercharged, they are fast, but deceptively so...you don't notice how fast you are going until you look at the speedo! One great thing about them is that because there are multiple vehicles with the exact same powerplant, Mopar likely has an SRT8 that appeals to virtually everyone. Most people do tend to address the Challenger as the leader of the pack among these offerings, and the Magnum is no longer offered, but can still be purchased used.

The one that will surprise you is the SRT8 Jeep. Although even more spacious and comfortable than the other HEMI offerings, once the Vortech goes on they become an incredible snarling AWD beast that will introduce you to a whole different kind of fast. Trust me. Nobody believes me until they ride in one, but they should. We are talking about a vehicle that weighs over 5,000 pounds that will propel you from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. I suggest taking a ride in a Vortech supercharged SRT8 Jeep if you ever have the chance.

My philosophy is just to appreciate a car for what it is, not for what brand name comes stamped on it...

Price is relative to location.

I lived in Japan for a year it was not uncommon to see R33 and R34 Skyline's. In fact it is just as common as you see a mustang GT rolling around on American soil.

Mustang owners dont care? Have you not noticed how over run this site is with mustang trolls? POST AFTER POST AFTER POST AFTER POST AFTER POST of arguing about all kinds of stuff. So many mustang people registered here as well. I have never seen anything like it in all my life of being on forums. Sure it goes on everywhere and on both ends. But it seems rather abundant on this site. And I believe it is because a lot of people are jealous of the success as well as the performance and value of this car.

If what goes on in this forum from day to day is called not caring....#1 you obviously have not looked around this site much and took notice #2 you are in denial

I think it is mostly for the fun of discussion and yes, maybe a little friedly rivalry. IMHO, it is certainly NOT jealously. I am here because I was and sort of am still trying to make a buying decision, right now the 11 Mustang is the lead, but the Camaro is still in that race haha. Don't try to over analyze it and turn it into something inherently evil and mischievous, hell, it's JUST CARS! I see plenty of brand x owners on the Mustang sites out, and yes, most are defending what they drive. Hell, svtperformance.com is a HUGE hodgepodge of everything!

Yeah, i do agree there, that happens with every site. Two of the worst I have ever seen though is NLOC (National Lightning owners club) and club GP (for late model grand prixs, the SHO vs GTP, Nussan Maxima/Altima vs GTP, GTP vs .0 Mustang and even Grand Prix GTP vs GXP battles are epic LOL).

There's been a friendly rivalry between Ford/Chevy/Mustang/Camaro since the '60s, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. As someone who owns two of what are considered very nice late model Mustangs, and really enjoys having and driving them, I still think the new Camaros are also very cool. And sure, at the right time, I'll be happy to "play" with you Camaro guys on some open stretch of highway..

And to answer the question of the thread. We hate you guys because our cars are slower and uglier! Just kidding I don't hate any Camaro owners at all. We all know girls love Mustangs just don't tell my wife! But seriously When I had an '05 Vette my bro had a '05 Mustang and when we would go to the gas station people flocked around his car like it was a Lambo I didn't get it till I had the 2010 SS. Hopefully the GT500 will do it again!
