I am US Army Retired. I retired as LTC after 23 years. I was in the Active Amry(4 years), California Army National Guard(10 years) and US Army Reserve(9 years) I was a Lt in the Field Artillery and flew Helicopters in Vietnam from June 1969-June 1970. When I came back to Fort Rucker, AL, I flew OH-13's teaching students how to fly on instruments only. When I joined the California Army National Guard I changed Branchs to Medical Service and I flew Medevac Missions at Fort Irwin and Camp Roberts. In the Army Reserves I continued my military education at Command and Staff College, and then worked as a Medical Services Administration Officer at Fort Ord, CA, till it was closed down. I always enjoyed flying Helicopters in the Military.

Blue Star family here - three blue stars, to be exact.

Hubby AD AF for 27 yrs, eldest son ANG for 5 yrs, middle son AD AF 1 yr now. Upcoming deployments: Afghanistan for one, Qatar for another, and an undisclosed location (for 2 YRS) for the third.

Thanks to all current and former military members and families - we are proud to serve in the protection of this great nation and the freedoms afforded us all by those who have gone ahead.

well. are combat engineers/sappers part of a infantry unit, what tasks/missions did you have like, mine clearance, and other stuff,

U.S. Navy - 9.5 years - Knee Injury (ACL) put me out!
Served as an ET (Electronic Tech) on Air Traffic Control Radar (SPN-41 and 43) on board the USS America, then the USS Theodore Roosevelt and finally as an Instructor in Pensacola Flordia on the SPN-43 radar system.
