I was intrigued by this statement, so I did some quick research. reddit nor 4chan found the suspects first and tipped the fbi.

in fact, they wrongly accused (unintentionally) a male in a blue sweater/jacket. AFTER the Boston police and fbi released info on the two suspects in the video they found, did 4chan and reddit find more pictures of them.

not really. I see it as an angry/heartbroken father, with empty threats. just because his kids were able to do something horrible, doesn't mean the father is capable of the same thing.
