Our society has degraded to over-reacting to what it considers "social injustices" and making new, absurd, nearly unenforceable laws in a feeble attempt to "combat" society's inability to do the right thing, and that's mind its own business.

My question is, and I'm sure the proposers of this law haven't been able to answer this, how could they make inaction on anyone's part a punishable crime without trampling on their rights as a citizen? (oh, I forgot about that health care bill). If you report a missing kid, they wouldn't go looking for them right away anyway unless it's an Amber alert. They already GOT that. You can't make people care about their kids by making more dumb laws. That's why it's retarded. Good in its intent, but fails miserably in practice.

If I see a burning building, it is not a requirement that I report that to anyone or face jail. Or if I witness a crime, I don't have to report anything. Absurdity to the max. And there's some people that swallow that garbage without question. Sad, really.

A mother who is out partying while her missing, dead daughter is lying in a garbage bag with duct tape over her mouth and nose.

A mother who is out getting a tattoo reading the good life while her baby daughter has no life any longer.

A mother who said she spoke to her daughter on the phone, long after she had been murdered and dumped in a swamp.

I hope she meets the same fate as Caylee.

You had to go and turn it into politics, sad on your part. You just go to show that if it doesn't affect you directly it's stupid and the Government needs to stay out of your life.

You assume too much. How do you know what does/doesn't affect me? I was only espousing examples about how absurd a proposed law like this would be, and somewhat tongue-in-cheek. We don't have to agree.

If you don't CARE about something, can you truly be responsible for it? So they do go hand in hand. Not quite the difference I'm thinking you want it to be. You read into what I wrote what you wanted to read into it. I think you're misunderstanding my point. There's no politics. It's a statement about silly, man-made laws that do nothing to actually solve issues. It's a societal problem. You simply can't make people be responsible for what they choose not to be responsible for, simply by passing laws. You have to do the hard part, like change the culture. Laws are band-aids that don't cover all wounds. But if you like someone else telling you how you should live the details of your life, then sure, support and pass all the laws you like.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think she's guilty as sin. I think that the state presented a good case (my opinion) unfortunately, the jury didn't feel the same way. And I think that she got away with killing a defenseless child. But again, just my opinion..
