18.2 announcement tonight. Hoping for a wheelhouse workout for Monique!

I'd love for him to redo 17.1 this year....it was her best one from last year. Got all excited when he announced 18.1 and started talking about 17.1. She finished 70th with a time of 13:59. She has since redone it and dropped the time to 13:30.

HAHA yes there will be.

Well 18.2 is for sure in her wheelhouse. I expect her to do well.

However 18.2a really isn't. While strong on the traditional barbell lifts, her olympic lifts have a ways to go.

We are hoping for 138lbs.

She just got done. Goes to show you just never know. She did worse than I thought she would on the first part and better on the second.

6:29 for the 1st part.

158lbs on the clean which was an 8lb PR for her on her heaviest clean ever and a 13lbs PR on her power clean.

She didn't even squat clean the weight. She (like in 2015) has some type of mental block about going into a squat clean after a workout.

She'll redo it on Monday and improve the time and hopefully PR the clean again.

Thanks. She’s been, and really does, always work hard to improve.

5’2”...her and Monique are the same height. I kind of thought the same thing about Monique in this workout. The first part anyway. Not necessary hers to lose but hoping for top 50 or so.

For myself, I tooled through the first part in 9:30 and power cleaned 245 off blocks.

A lot will change by tomorrow (and hopefully Monique will do better when she does it again today) but as of now she is 47th worldwide after 2 events. She thinks she can get in the 5’s and we are hoping for either 161 or 166.

My girl deadlifted 355 lbs this weeked at 170 lbs. new PR for her also. These women are killing it and I'm super impressed with the dedication.

Individual. Not since 2014 has the gym attempted to field a team--little interest in developing existing/internal talent. It's one of the reasons I don't train there anymore, except for weekly open gym.

The good news is she dropped her time to 6:42...the bad mews is she could only manage a 141 clean so I don’t think we will be submitting this score.

She’s gonna take a break for 2 hours and try it again.
