I am very glad to see Dodge pull this off. I love GM and have been happy with every GM car I've owned but I also am a huge fan of the Challenger/Hellcat and now this Demon.

I'm not going to diss on GM - they build a great car in the Camaro and Corvette. Obviously, GM's direction has been less 1/4 mile performance oriented and more directed to offering balance with the Road Course crowd. That's great - to a point. One car can not usually be the best at both and when you compromise for one track you lose ability at the other. It's just the physics of things and what you need to go fast/quick at one is different than at the other.

So, Dodge said screw the idea of having a car that can do the strip AND the track - we are going to aim for the drag crowd with this Demon (the Viper was their Track star and a damned good one at that) and we want it to be the top dog. They already had the Hellcat - the Demon is just icing on the cake. Put in cage and go race at an NHRA track or drive it on the street for sheer terrorizing the neighborhood.

They did that and they did it in spades. Kudos for Dodge!

Welcome to the 21st century, those parameters can be dialed in or negated electronically. This car will be psycho fun on the street. My God the fanboy mentality is in full bloom in this thread.

Back it up and read my last post. You got a bit too excited to jump a "fanboy" and posted as soon as you could. I am fully aware of what is possible in modern cars, I just didn't expect Dodge to put that into their last hurrah before bankruptcy, again.

Is that why GM dropped from a 100K mile drivetrain warranty to a 60K mile drivetrain warranty? Lol Reliabilty.....

well to add that "they are almost dead" to your posts I thought you had some info that you could share, 2.3 million units moved in the US last year, in Canada FCA sold more than any other company in 2015. Just one of those GM FAN BOYS I guess

I don't believe this is the end for FCA but recognizing that the company has major issues does not make him a fanboy.

You don't need to post this in Off-Topic. We have an entire subforum for cars other than the Camaro.

In talking about the demise of Chrysler it comes to mind that GM did not pay the taxpayer back all of their borrowed money. Don't get me wrong, I get a check from GM but just because Mopar one up GM isn't a reason to be a whiner when you should rejoice. You will one day look back at these days with a knot in your gut because you are forced to ride a Horse again.

I would take one at Msrp in a sec
I'll buy right now at full sticker.

Dodge did not go these extremes to only sell 3,000 units. They will build as many as the public will buy.
