I'm hoping the 6gen 1LE will be the American version of the BMW CSL. Fingers crossed.

Well, if the recent Motor Trend head to head with the M4 and 2SS is any indication of things to come, I think you may just get your wish. If the 1LE isn't quite enough, the new ZL1 they just revealed may be the ticket. I prefer NA, but the ZL1 is definitely going to be nasty.

Ford and GM are both killing it lately. The GT350, GT350R, Focus RS, SS 1LE, C7 Grand Sport, and now the ZL1. I'm loving all of them! I wish I had the bank account to support my addiction.

Just to clarify, I was referring to the e46 m3 csl. A legendary sleeper of its time that made supercars blush. Still does. Special cars like that don't come around often. It is doubtful the 6gen 1le will rise to that level of special. But, we'll see.

I knew to what you were referring. Have you considered a GT350 or GT350R? I know that they cost more than the 1LE, but they're pretty special. The Camaros will be the better deals on paper, but I feel like the GT350 and R have that special personality that makes people from all demographics love them.

The gt350 is an amazing car but I just am not into the styling. The front end is over done with all the interleaved paneling, imo.

I'd say it's like comparing a good ball point pen to a crayon for lack of a better analogy. In the 911 you get better visibility, swifter throttle response, more agile handling, lovely interior fit and finish.... on and on. I will say, the 6gen Camaro can't be beat for its price, it has an Amazing exhaust note, steering feel is pretty good, front visibility isn't as bad as others claim, and she''s got Pull! You just don't get the power delivered as crisply urgent despite being suply and abundantly available as you do with the GTS. Much respect to to Camaro though. I am still thoroughly impressed with the driving impressions I've obtained with the couple test drives I've had. I certainly can't wait to test the 1LE. If the difference it offers over the standard SS is anywhere as great as it was with the fifth gen, it might be enough to sway me towards justifying it as a beater. With no offense intended...quite the contrary.

It sounds you are used to older high end European sports cars and the Camaro will very likely disappoint you in that regard. It is not an older high end European sports car.

However we are now in the age of EPS and while BMW and Porsche have lost some of their raw edge, the Camaro is better than ever and at least as good as anything under $50k currently.

Gotcha. Personally, I can't get tired of the look. Plenty of choices out there though.

It's exciting to think, if the 6gen 1le is just 1 sec faster than 5gen 1le, (around Spring Willow) it'll have beat the new GT4! That would be amazing!

Power alone does not translate to a better car. Sometimes, it's a balance. For example, 911 turbo vs 911 gt3

Not to mention that the ZL1 is in a completely different price bracket.

You mean like 1LE parts that GM offers for 2SS? They did that on 5th gen.
