Apparently generation 5 has the most tedious challenges required to go on to the next one. The worst one? The Gooser challenge. Kill a total of 50 pilots that ejected from there Titan before they hit the ground

Also it's true you get to keep your burn cards. But your challenges reset with each prestige. So trying to get them done before you reach the prestige is pointless.

If you don't know what generations are, they're the prestige system. Once you hit level 50 and complete the challenges for each level you get the option to regenerate (when you want to). This will reset all of your experience, level, and completed challenges (but not stats) to 0. I can't decide if I like the challenges to reach the next gen or not..... Lots of people playing last Titan standing and just abandoning their titans to work on challenges. So much for a "team" game......
