So now that the first rookie mini-camp is over, how does everyone feel? I think the Raiders got the steal of the draft in the 4th round. Wilson will be a stud QB and may push Flynn to a backup...........again!

well, he had a chance in seattle, rookie beat him out. he has a chance in Oakland...we'll see what happens. if he gets beat out by another rookie, drafted in the 4th round...we might see him in a jets uniform before too long. lmao

So, he'd be the QB draft good luck charm...

I don't feel too bad for him. His wife is a former Miss Louisiana...

I find it interesting that people are talking about any of the soso QB's coming out of this draft as if they were going to be instant superstars...simply by what they did in rookie mini camp....they use basic drills to weed out the chaff, they don't use anything remotely taxing for the athletes at that level.

There are exceptions and surprises, but how people can talk about a rookie before real training camp is even started, that wasn't even expected to get picked the second round, much less the first as if hes already the second coming is a bit pre mature and doesn't make sense.

The sensationalism on the sports circuit with this guy is crazy.

I think he will get to play this year, if for no other reason than the fact the Raiders are paying him $6M+ this season.

Of all the QB's drafted this year, the two with the best shot of making it are Barkley and Wilson. Both were long term starters in "Pro style" offenses. Wilson has a stronger arm than Barkley, but that's about it. I don't know what the damn Bills were thinking, and the jets, well they have proven to not think over and over again.

Everyone gets enamored with guys like RG 3 and Vick because they can run. So could V. Young and that didn't help him much. It doesn't take long for a DC to put together a plan to keep a running QB one dimensional. That's where guys like Luck shine. He is mobile and has a big arm. Much more of a threat.

The biggest knock on both Barkley and Wilson coming out wasn't production, it was their lack of mobility. There are a couple of pretty damn good statues that play QB in the NFL. I'm not delusional enough to think that either of them will be as good as say Brady or Manning, but I bet both of them will be better than Geno and Manuel at the end of their careers and both of them were drafted well before Barkley and Wilson.

How many QB's were drafted ahead of Brady? Hell, he almost didn't make the team and was buried on the depth chart his first few seasons because he only had one year of experience at Michigan.

Anyone that thinks a QB is going to be a superstar based on three very scripted practices is off their meds. Looking at what they did against top tier opponents for several years with lesser talent.......is a much better gauge.

Jumbo sized JaMarcus Bustle played in the holy grail of the SEC for the untouchable LSU posers and couldn't make it through his rookie contract after being the overall #1 pick. The people he played with made him look better than he was, just like others don't look as good when they don't have the "top tier" talent around them.

Like I said earlier, I think Flynn will get the starting job this season but Wilson is going to push Pryor down to the bottom of the depth chart again this year. I hope Flynn has a great year and the Raiders will be set at QB for a long long time, but with only 2 starts in the NFL, being a 7th round pick AND following JaMarcus Russell out of LSU, isn't real confidence inspiring. Again, this is a guy that has one year of "tape" in college, but his ended with a BCS championship.
