What's it doing? Flooding or not liking you in general? Mind you it's like 90 something across the state. An old Kohler is gonna be a bitch to start. The ones on our triplexes (oldest is an 81) does NOT like it. Cold starts, hot starts...

Gotta curse, look at it and stick our your tongue just right before it decides to light. Then godforbid it's left to idle.

Nothing like relaxing at a beach house, watching a Rays game, and on Camaro5 at the same time.

Cranks but won't start. No spark from the spark plug, even with a new plug and ignition coil.

Plus it's spraying fuel out the air intake rather than pulling fuel into the engine...

Hmm, hows the rectifier/alternator? Starter may be getting power but the alternator and rectifier may be shot, leading no power to go from the brushes to the ignition coil.

And it's spraying fuel out of the air cleaner or into the intake and not getting pulled into the engine?

I have no idea. I'll check it tomorrow.

And yes, it's spraying out instead of in. No idea why.

Who rebuilt the carb? Did you install it upside down?

And looking up parts, I'm thinking either the brushes or rectifier may not be working. It may crank, but the fault is upstream of the coil and that's all I can think of without actually seeing it.

I don't think we did.

Probably just going to take the engine to a repair shop and have them make sure we didn't totally screw up while rebuilding it.

It's happened.. could just have something backwards. Though googlefu says that fuel spray out the cleaner could just be a needle or jet issue in the carb.

Though I'd have to play with one to see just how that works..
