When I get done with this accounting business i want to get on with an oil comp. Exxon is nice but they dont treat women well.

Exxon has actively promoted and been searching for qualified female applicants in all sectors. They are trying to reform their image after realizing the lack of women in power positions. With the widespread retirings just starting to occur and with the vacuum already starting to be felt, if you are a woman and have a degree and meet all of Exxon's pre-reqs for employment (applied to both men and women) and then do your job well, they pretty much shove a rocket up your butt and push you as high as your abilities and stress handling skills can take you.

My mom worked for Exxon for 25 years and once she hit the "glass cieling" they made every excuse for not promoting her. She left and head dozens of executive job offers, and then she was a VP for Pogo until they were taken over. Now she is a director at Hess. Everyone woman I know at Exxon complains that once you hit the "ceiling" they wont move you any more. And my mom and these ladies all have masters and years of experience.

That may be from the old guard (previous management) that has not been my personal experience and observations. I want to be clear that I'm not saying that hasn't happened before or to past employees but with the older players giving way to newer and younger management, I've personally not seen it.

I've seen multiple women, who were very good, promoted very, very quickly.

Well I hope they have changed. Maybe now I'll consider them. My mom is super smart and i know Exxon kicked their own butts when she left hahaha. She was in charge of sealing the deal for the eagleferd (sp?) for Hess.
