Pretty uniforms for making nice TV commercials but to small a force to be of any consequence. Army is where the ground work gets done and I'll give a shout out to the Air Force and Navy since they control the Nukes, the ultimate peacemakers. In all seriousness though, I hope you stay safe and come home to an awesome Camaro ASAP.
The way it works is the MC takes a section of an area over (ground work) then the army comes in holds that while the marines push foward and do it all over. Then when the army loses it, the marines have to come back and fix what was screwed up!!! If you have ever seen Black Hawk Down that is exactly what happend. The whole movie is about the army doing what they do best This has also happend several times in Iraq! one being the battle for Fallujah

The USMC is a branch of the Navy meaning a part of the navy. Land,Air,Sea
Capabilities. The MC also has air wings meaning Air capabilities.

We dont work for the army they fall under us.

Who Guards the president... Not the army or AF

If a Marine decides to go to the army or any other branch of service more than likely will get a promotion in that branch for being a marine. If any other branch decides to become a Marine after being in the service they have to go through boot camp all over again.

A lil info is the reason my unit is still in this country is because....an Army unit needs us to stay this is a fact!

I do appreciate you concern though!!! thank you and Cant wait to actually see one in person!!! good luck to you!!

Dude, seriously get a grip. The Corps is a fine piece of work alright but give it a rest and get all your facts straight before posting junk. The Marines actually fall under the Army, Navy and Air Force in the grand scheme of things; you're the sacrificial lambs.

The MC is just that, a Corps of the Navy, a sub-unit, not equal to, belongs to the Navy, not a separate service.

The MC has to send their 'airborne' units to the Army for training.

if you

The MC has to send their 'airborne' units to the Army for training.
I clearly stated that. The convo was on the navy/mc being ok with out the army and af but that those two would not be fine with out the navy/mc. Once again read the thread first

the MC does not have an airborne unit what we have are marines with jump wings which are mainly in special forces/recon battalions. Yes why this is partly true You have completely missed the whole point!!!!!! This is not about who is better and who is not which is prob what you thought when you put your 2 sense in!!!! ignorance has killed this convo!!! which is now over being that I had no intentions of high jacking this thread!!!

20+ years in the Army and never once have any of my units relied upon the Navy or the Corps, we could survive just fine without them at least with the MC.

I did read the thread and you were spouting partial truths and BS.

You probably don't see it, but you need them. Next time you see them, you should thank them for what they do. You are probably surviving there because of them. There is a big picture that you are not seeing. Trust me...the AF is seeing the big picture...from satellites at the very least.

Why all the hate between branches of the Us military, We are on the same Side lol

Every Branch of the US military supports each other the Marines and Army rely on the Air force and Navy for Air support in times

the Navy and Air force cannot clear out every house and take down every insurgent by them self Thats where the Marines and Army Come in

I plan to join the Marines in the future. I will be the first Marine in my whole family :flag2::flag2:

i need to lose some weight though. any help?

The branches have always had a rivalry between them, it is the natural order of things. Hell, within the branches there is rivalry between the jobs. All in good fun. I have the utmost respect for the Corps, and always have. To each their own place in the world.

The branches are so closely integrated in operations these days that I don't honestly think any one of them would do as well without the other.

Peace Sauce, and thank you for doing what many couldn't, or won't do.

Yea like your first post about being embarrassed? You know squat about the other branches and probably very little about your own. Your a Noob and writing about things you know nothing about. Take a look at the uniform of your CG in Iraq and get a clue Hollywood.

Ok first off I'm a Marine and have been one for 4 years. While I dont really agree with Sauce's comments about the other branches, I do take some offense to you saying we are sacrificial lambs....? Are you kidding me? That's a pretty ignorant statement to make. Just a little history lesson for ya. The Marine Corps. falls under the Navy not the Air Force or Army. We are a department of the Navy
