Cool, I'm interested to see what your diet is like.

Why no Splenda? It's zero calorie isn't it? When low carbing I have been killing my sugar cravings with coke zero or diet mtn dew. I figure they're zero calorie and the extra caffeine will do some good fat burn wise. Am I wrong?

I drink loads of water.....the Coke Zero and Diet Mtn Dew is to trick myself in to thinking I'm getting something sweet. Works good for that as I don't go raid the candy jar on the admins desk all day at work LOL.

I drink about a gallon of water a day. Maybe 1 Coke Zero. Then there's the 4 glasses of whiskey oops.

Stevia is a better artificial sweetner, splenda makes you bloated and gassy......and.Stevia is all natural, comes straight from the plant....

Cool, I'll get it next time. I only use the artificial sweeteners in my coffee and sprinkle some on my oat meal.

I have a tbsp of ICBINBL in my broccoli and on my oat meal as well. Is there a better substitute there? I've heard that stuff is like 1 molecule away from plastic.

Yup! Dead wrong. Diet soda causes weight loss stall or gain and even with artificial sweeteners of ANY kind there is a GI and they have the potential to cause a fat burning stall in your metabolism. Water and black coffee or tea are your fat burning drinks! Im not looking forward to kicking my rockstar zero carb habit :(

My sister told me this is because it stalls out in the liver (?? or which ever organ processes fat) and slows it down so it doesnt process fat as efficently as it should. I have one coke zero in the morning to wake up and water the rest of the day.

So I have decided to go get a massage because my back is knotted to heck and back and I keep getting these headaches and its affecting my workouts. Should I go to a regular massage parlor or a sports massage place?

there are a couple ways i deal with it mainly. and which one is used depends on where i am in my cycle of dieting and how far out i am from a show.

i have been doing it so long i have found diet friendly modifications i can do to what is on the strictest of diets, these i use in the first few weeks or when i am on a "holding plan for a show" pattern. it is amazing how creative you can get after playing around with it for so long! they do not harm or really low the first stages of weight loss for a show, however the closer you get the tighter it becomes and thats when it gets tricky, and hard. i loose my splenda and equal 4 weeks in so after that the "sugar cravings" get NASTY and those i get around by "doing something else" i keep very very very very busy during diet season (work 4 - 5 jobs) so i am constantly out of the house and i walk away when i am around something that makes my stomach flip due to craving or hunger. toward the middle and end i will literally go to the store and BUY the things i want and crave and give them to co-workers, it is surprising how satisfying just the purchase can be even if you dont consume it. and the final week or so i start my "after show binge kitty" and start storing everything i crave in the freezer and i dont open it until the day of the show when it goes into my bag to come with me to the show.
Hmmmm...I never thought about the psychology of just buying the items! I dunno, I would probably rip into the package before I even got em to the car though!! I don't even go down the junk food aisle at the grocery store...I avoid it like the plague!!

Holy crap!! 4 -5 jobs??? Whew!!! Makes me tired just thinkin about it! Keeping busy is a great method though...I use that method a lot...try to distract myself...or I drink a bottle of water.

Hmmm...good info on the soy products. I wasn't aware of that and being a vegetarian, guess where I get a lot of my protein??? (I do eat tuna and eggs though so I get a lot of protein there as well) So when you say milk based, does that include whey protein?

I found adding cinnamon to my oats gives them some good flavor without any negatives (unless there is something out there I am not aware of).

My understanding is caffeine in drinks like coffee/soda is ineffective for fat burning. The most effective caffeine for fat burn is an herb called guarana. Unlike caffeine drinks which produce an energy surge then drop off, guarana's caffeine is released more slowly over several hours which is more effective for fat burn. Also, my understanding is the fat burning effects of guarana are even better when coupled with white willow bark. Studies show when taken together, it increases the body's ability to utilize fatty acids while preserving lean muscle tissue (but dont take white willow bark if you are allergic to aspirin!)
