In other news had my final weigh in for the Nutrishop challenge today. Lose 10% of your body weight in 8 weeks get $100 gift card. Made it with 1lb to spare.

Weighed 237.6 on 1/1.....weighed in today at 212.8
Oh, that weight challenge sounded easy. About two weeks ago, stomach bug hit me. At 10pm I weighed about 236, by 8am the next morning, I was 227 lbs. If you do it in under 8 hours, was there an additional $100 gift card? I don't recommend it, and it's very painful to be that dehydrated. But I'm back in force now.

475 lb box squats last night for reps. I need a nap now.

Ugh I have had those before. They suck. Yes you definitely deserve a gift card

Well 16.1 is over. Out of about 14000 people in her age division Monique is sitting at 570th worldwide. About where we'd like to finish this year in the end.

Video for anyone who would like to watch.

I watched, and holy cow, Monique's body is built for power. The shoulders and tri's stand out like a bodybuilder on her. I have been lifting a long time, and I know what it takes to get to her size and strength, and it is extremely impressive. Plus, I think I would of passed out way before she finished up. Killer on strength and cardio, she is truly killing it.

Thanks brother. You should see her legs lol. Yeah she does ok for a 43 year old "People" ask her all the time about entering BB shows. But she's not that type.....f..I have to twist her arm to do the open. She is more about competing against herself than others.

I've told it before, earlier in this thread.....but I'll repost for any newbie's reading the thread.

When Monique and I met 3 years ago she was 206lbs at 5'2"....and it wasn't muscle :-( 9 months later when we went on vacation to Mexico her final weigh in was 129lbs.....77lbs in 9 months. She trained 2x a day, running sprints early in the morning and doing her weight training at night. This combined with a solid eating plan produced the results.

She did while being a single mom with twins, 2 dogs, and working a full time job. You can do it, but you have to want it bad enough to make the sacrifices and put the work in to achieve desired results.

She currently walks around between 135-139.

oh, you could tell the legs were all power. They really stand out on her.

And you nailed it and people just don't seem to get it. If you want it, you have to work for it. And when you say work, you are talking about busting your ass, making sacrifices and being smart. All while having a some-what normal life makes it even more difficult to obtain. But if you want it, you have to work for it. There are no shortcuts, easy days in the gym, skimping on meals.. it's a daily challenge, and you have to win with all your decisions to make improvements.

Can anyone do it. Yes. Do all people make that type of commitment, no. But those that do, are so much better off physically, mentally and have a better life.

I bow to Monique, she is an example of success in many different ways.

Dat ass (she kick mine if she knew I typed that lol).

I do too brother every day. I plug along and do ok but I wish I had the drive she has. But she inspires me every day to push and do more.

16.2....a workout definitely not in her wheelhouse. We will see what Thursday brings. 4 minute as many reps as possible....25 toes to bar, 50 double unders, 15 squat cleans at 85. If you finish you get 4 more minutes.....first 2 stay the same squat clean weight goes to 115. She didn't make it.

wow, she is build for pure power. That is a lot of hours in the gym, and a lot of heavy reps to get that physic. Very impressive!! I know when you watch her train, you have to just step back and admire the desire she has.

Every day. And it's so funny because, while I don't train as much or as hard as when I was say in my 20's, I do train hard.

Then I look at her, and honestly, almost makes me sad I don't give more.

Wasn't much to post last week....only 10 snatches because she can't do a muscle up yet (go figure).

16.4 this week 13 minute time cap as many reps as possible. (Men's/women's weight).

55 deadlifts 225/155
55 wall balls 20/14
55 calorie row
55 hand stand pushups

She made it to the hand stand pushups and got 15 so 180 total reps. Video below......

No but....

"She'll be back" at it on Monday

She was happy to have a workout more suited to her this week. After starting off good with a 579th placing out of 14000 entries, her 2nd week score was about 1750, and her 3rd week score was about 1850. She's been in the dumps about it.

Goal is still to finish in the top 500 but like I told her even if she finishes in the same spot as last year (like 980th) it would still be an improvement because there's 3000 more entries this year in her age group (40-44).

Yeah she has to look at it from the big picture, not just her number. Maybe putting into percentages for her would help mentally.
