I said next CTS meaning alpha based.

It may seem like a no brainer to use a car that's already in production but I don't see it that way when other performance sedans sold here don't look like Mom's ride.

Well that's a possibility for the next version but they wanted it this year.

Impala SS

The Impala SS has never been about a flash exterior. It has been about powerful motors in a family size car. The new SS fits in that model.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the SS release is complete. No one would be surprised to see a manual, ZL1 style brakes or ZL1 power as options for the SS.

Been there. Done that. The Pedders G8 is one of the best cars I have owned. The new VF will be even better with the chassis refinements.

If I could trade even up for the Camaro, I think I would. Then my wife could drive it too.

I've been looking at this car since the release and I think it's just a couple of things in the looks department that are misses. Not a whole lot.

1. Over in the c7 forum FEN mentioned the color. The silver color looks washed out in the real photos. In the glamor shots and the pix of the Holden, you can see how sculpted the front really is. He's right. It was a bad choice for a launch. The pace car looks much better.

2. I think if the bumper was body colored it would look even better. This is my personal taste. I think the aftermarket would be able to take care of that easily.
3. They should have made it much more aggressive with something like the ZL1 grille. Name: holden-hsv-gts-02.jpg

Chevy should have done this at launch. People would have gone apeshit. It shouldn't take much to make the SS look as badass as it can be made to perform.
I'm a little disappointed. This car is supposed to be the halo performance sedan for chevy. They should not have been afraid to go out on a limb and make this car look aggressive. They did it with the Impala. They almost hit a home run but checked the swing.
I do think a manual will be available eventually but it's going to be tied to step up in trim and/or performance package. More $$$. The white SS emblem on the fender??? Why is it white? The SS on the head rest & dash is red. Maybe they are saving the red fender SS for the next trim level with dual mode exhaust/quad tip and a manual trans?? I thought I saw a pic with a quad tip diffuser floating around.
Chevy and GM has got the message on the interiors. This is just the next one in a long line of really well sorted out interiors. Inside it looks great. I can't wait to see one of these in person.

Looks like an Acura TL and an Nissan Altima combined. Looks = 0 out of 10.

I think that last rendering looks crazy cool. Reminds me of an S5 Audi... but with an American flair. A 2 door full sized sedan with a stick would have been awesome... another 4 door full sized automatic? zzzzz

It would be awesome if Chevrolet built something like that.

I would say it even goes back further then that Fen. Enthusiasts have been b*tching at GM since the 1996 Impala SS ended production. But yes the most recent b*tching was from the when the G8 left.

Underwhelming is an understatement. Seems like a Charger is in the cards for me.

People just want something to bitch about. This car is cool. Go buy your challengers or imports. Neither will be as reliable...or make power as easily with mods. Aren't mopar computers locked still? LS3 is a proven platform with easy to add tons of power for not a lot of dough....and dead-reliable!

I see lots of G8 guys trading in for updated interior and new features. HUD,NAV,USB, heated and cooled seats. Hell just the seats are badass.

Haters gonna hate

The Mopars already make more power and the computers have been cracked. For me that doesn't matter anyhow. The Mopars look a lot better than this car too. Oh and um, this car wasn't built to compete with the Challenger. It's in the same class as the Charger and 300. Notice how many doors it has.
I love that two door rendering above. Not that is has two doors but the overall look and feel of it. That's what this car should have been. That would look just as good as a four door too.
