My mind tells me that it should be easier when warm? Is there a reason why its more difficult? Drag racing noob here...

Spoken like a true racer.

"Lovely weather isn't it?"

"Have you seen the DA? This is stupid. I cant 60', I cant dial it in, and with my luck the temperature will go down and it'll be break out city"

"...all I said was nice weather"

Edit: I'm 29, so I think I'm still allowed to claim to be young.....hopefully

For our cars negative DA is the best. DA or Density Altitude, is the overall atmospheric pressure which includes: temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. The colder outside, the better. But not like 30* cold. Like 50s. My best 60' was 2.08 and that was when I was bone stock. It was 52 outside. And the DA was -700 ft. And it helps when your track is close or a bit above sea level. State Capitol Raceway is about 60 ft above sea level

This could not be more accurate. And you qualify!

Anyone who has raced has been there lol

There comes a point where you cannot learn any more by reading, you have to just..do.

A solid 50% of drag racing is feeling and communicating on an unspoken level with the car, the rest is experience, instinct and luck. I've seen drivers with multiple Wally's (track championships) and years of experience completely biff it on a seemingly cake walk 1st round run against a newbie and get put on the trailer.

It also helps when you've been around cars and drag racing your whole life

Yeah that'll help a bit as well. Can't wait to see how I actually do. Though our nearest track is now 2 hours away.
