It crazy I almost got ran over 3 different times in a cross walks 10 seconds after light turns red. I always wait extra time to make sure nobody runs the red light.

Hey, don't EVER take it for granted that drivers see you, even if it seems like they're looking at you. And always use the crosswalks when you can.

I saw this one guy get killed a little over a year ago while he was trying to cross Shaw Ave. illegally. The gal drivin' the SUV thumped him full on. He looked dead as he was flying through the air. When I got up to him, it was clear that he wasn't just staring up at the blue sky, but that he had given up the ghost!

The truth is, the guy looked like a bum. I think it turned out that he was drunk. I really didn't have any feelings about it one way or another. After I got up to him and felt for a pulse, I then said a few prayers for his soul, then waited for the police to come and take my statement so I couldn go back to my spin! It was in early November '09, and if I remember right, it was a beautiful late afternoon. I just had a T-shirt on

I'll tell you one thing that was cool though, and that was the fact the gal driving was not cited. I mean, she hit and killed him, but why screw her up any more than she probably already felt. I remember taking the guy's pulse and as I began turning my head to shake it at another gal who had pulled over who was asking me how he was, my eyes caught the drivers. I can only imagine what she must have been thinking and feeling when she saw me begin to shake my head signifying that he was dead. The driver was actually on her way to some sort of church function that afternoon. I don't know....For whatever reason, he was supposed to die that day, and she was supposed to be the instrument for it. Oh well....

Lucky her. Everything happens for a reason though so I think she will be okay knowing that.

My mom friend was driving one day, and an illegal immigrant ran in front of her and she killed him. She was charged for manslaughter

How did the case turn out?

I never found out exactly what happened it was when they were younger way before I was born. My mom told me that I never really found out anymore details

Okay, I was thinking it was more recent. Even though this gal wasn't cited, it wouldn't stop some relative from trying to sue her, even though they may never have cared about the man in life if he was homeless like I think he was.
