On what basis to you stake your claim that the 1LE is selling so much? If it's true I'm happy to admit I'm wrong but I hardly EVER see 1LE's in real life, or on dealer lots. I think I may have seen 1 in the last two years. Downsides? It's got a really good track suspension, but it's a bit harsh for the street and conditions where there are less than ideal road surfaces (potholes, washboards, etc). Summer only tires.. More than a few professional and amateur reviews have praised the 1LE on the track, but have said its perhaps a bit too hard for the street. Having driven and ridden in a 1LE I would agree. Fantastic track car, but not one I would want to live with on a daily basis. |

GM offered a (imo) better car but with a (name/option) 95% of people never knew existed with an engine that what the same as every other ss. Had Chevy offered it with a hotter ls3 450-465hp and called it a z/28 around 45k it would have been a much bigger deal. Once again just my opinion.

The Z/28 GM did decide to do was just ego stroking. Very very effective, but also very very irrelevant |

Did you think the Boss 302R or Luguna seca was irrelevant ? Any car beating cars that cost twice and three times as much as them definitely isn't irrelevant! I guess if it isn't a Porsche or Lamborghini it's not relevant!

The 302R and S were non-vin'd, non-street legal cars. The Mustang and Camaro always stood for blue collar affordable performance. At $75,000 that takes it out of the price range for the majority of Americans when it comes to car purchases. |

1) There was a finite number of LS7s available that, if fitted to a 1LE-style package with a mid-$50s price, would have been exhausted in the first moments of open ordering. The proof of that? What's the current inventory level for the Z/28 after the Christmas Bonus 20% discount Sale? 2) If the Z/28 is so irrelevant, then why is it's "answer" the GT350-R? |

That has to be the dumbest comment I've seen on these forums in a long time. The Z/28 is kicking everyone's ass around the track. Going against cars that are 2x or 3x the cost.

Because automotive companies enjoy "large Richard" comparisons. The 350R is basically designed to piss off other labels since it cannot be used in formal competition due to its suspension design and braking systems. Personally I find the 350R to be as pointless as the Z/28 was and is. I'm more interested in what people are going to be able to do with the regular GT350 in amateur and semi-pro circles. When I was younger I was very very active in SCCA racing and raced at many tracks on the west coast, so class requirements do matter to me. |
