That's NOT surprizing. Contrary to the notions that it would lose at least 200 lb.

Here's the weight gain, broken down by model and transmission.

I posted this in another thread. Sounds like its worth adding to this discussion:

From Entertainment Weekly, in an interview with Micheal Bay: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/05/2...hael-bay-cars/

Quote from article:
Quote:
As for the heroes, Optimus Prime is now a Western Star truck (an homage to his 1980s toy form), while Bumblebee starts out as a modified ’67 Camaro, then morphs into a 2014 custom-made version. “GM is actually shrinking the Camaro now, and we were like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa.’ So we worked with the designers, making it wider and neater,”
If the above quote is true then we can certainly expect some weight loss. Smaller car on Alpha means decent weigh loss.

Compare a Gen-5 Camaro SS to a '69 Malibu SS 396 2-dr, fully loaded (Gen-5 in brackets):

L - 196.9 (192.3)
W - 76.0 (76.9)
H - 52.2 (52.4)
WB - 112.0 (112.3)

With Full Power (St/DiBr/Wi/Lo), A/C, Buckets & Console, 4-speed, AM/FM/Tape, it's Curb weight was 3836...similar to a '14 Z/28.

YES, the Gen-5 Camaros are THAT BIG!

Will we get a Gen-6 that's closer to the First Gen in size? Let's hope so...

Either way, there is no denying that the new car pretty much dwarfs the old.

Where's the 69 ? Hahaha .... The magazines are definitely all wrong but I see from the dimensions of the inside, are almost the same! The fenders on the 5th Gens are. just real wide! This is the 69 ofcourse! But I love the pic with all the 5th Gens .

un-Official 2015 Mustang weight

Taken straight out of here;http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/show...2015-2090.html

3852 for a GT... convertible.

3727 for GT automatic... and 3704 for the manual.

So much for the fanboy dreams of having a 450hp n 3400lbs car. LOL

What you guys think?

..youll notice theres some heavy hating in there. How much it is already superior than the Camaro when not even out LOLL
