Wow. Whoever cussed at someone for standing away from someone else is a real moron. “Hey! Stand closer to me! What are you doing standing all of the way over there?!” Were they wanting a courtesy sniff or something?

Let me set the record straight, I am not an anti-vaccination person. I see MANY benefits from having vaccinations available in the world. Like you suggested, polio is virtually eliminated because of vaccinations. There’s now a chicken pox and shingles vaccine that I wish I could have had as a kid instead of nearly dying from chicken pox and getting shingles when I was 9. The difference with vaccines and what is being sold as a vaccine by the CDC and other government offices for the COVID vaccine is that vaccines prevent illnesses. The COVID “vaccine” does not prevent catching COVID. It does not prevent spreading COVID. It does not prevent dying from COVID. It is not a vaccine as much as it is a hopeful symptom minimizer. COVID will never go away even if everyone gets the shot. This is a mutating virus unlike polio, chicken pox, shingles, hepatitis B, small pox, meningitis, etc.

Idaho
In communities across Idaho, we have celebrated the impact of our brave, dedicated healthcare workers as they fight against COVID-19. This pandemic, now in its 18th month, continues to take a relentless toll on the region’s caregivers. They have worked tirelessly and devoted themselves to caring for patients; now they need your help.

Hospitals throughout the region are currently experiencing COVID-19 hospitalization rates exceeding those of the peak surge in December 2020. While our facilities remain open and are capable of caring for patients in need, the current COVID-19 crisis puts a significant strain on hospital resources, including staff and bed availability.

This increase has caused local ICU and inpatient hospital floors to reach capacity on a regular basis. Our hospitals have experienced a continual flow of patients. To manage resources, hospital leaders at each facility monitor staffing and bed availability continuously throughout the day. Additionally, we collectively assess resources across hospitals to help meet the needs of our region.

In late spring, hospitals in our region had single-digit COVID-19 admissions. We were hopeful that the pandemic was ending. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Four of the largest hospitals in the region (EIRMC, Portneuf Medical Center, Idaho Falls Community Hospital, and Madison Memorial Hospital) collectively admitted a total of 74 inpatients with COVID illness in the month of July. That number soared to 157 in the month of August, representing a 112% increase.

Patients hospitalized with COVID-19 illness are overwhelmingly unvaccinated. Hospitals in our region are experiencing similar COVID-19 trends to those reported in other states and around the nation. We are also seeing younger and generally healthier people needing hospital care after contracting the virus. We strongly encourage people in our area to get the vaccine and follow the CDC’s recommendations for preventing the spread of the virus, including guidance around mask usage, social distancing and frequent hand washing.

The vaccine has been shown to be safe and effective, with 370 million doses administered across the U.S., as of September 1, 2021. As of this date, nearly 740,000 Idahoans are fully vaccinated. This leaves roughly 60% of Gem State residents unprotected.

The Food & Drug Administration has granted full approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine is also available for those as young as 12 under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines also remain in widespread use under EUA while seeking full approval.

The choices Idahoans make have a direct impact on whether hospitals have the human resources necessary to care for our community. We are imploring our community to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Protect yourself, protect our children, and protect the vulnerable members of our community unable to receive the vaccine. Do your part to make sure we can protect our precious hospital resources and care for those who need us most.

These hospitals in south and southeastern Idaho stand united in this joint statement.

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center
Portneuf Medical Center
Madison Memorial Hospital
Idaho Falls Community Hospital
Mountain View Hospital
Bingham Memorial Hospital
Steele Memorial Medical Center
Teton Valley Hospital
Bear Lake Memorial Hospital

Most things are not 100% — these are 90%, and they do minimize the chances of spreading and significantly minimize the chances of severe illness and death.

Just wait. Someone needs to turn on their TV to regurgitate MSM talking points, to refute your statement.

I found this.

Since April, Israel has fallen from first to 33rd in Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker of populations considered fully vaccinated. The program plateaued amid hesitancy from some in the Orthodox Jewish and Arab communities. About 61% of Israelis have been given two doses, lower than in European laggards earlier in the year such as France and Spain.
Infections jumped because of the prevalence of cases among the unvaccinated, especially children. There were also so-called breakthrough infections in those who have been vaccinated, and the drop in efficacy of vaccines.

PHOENIX — Health experts say, while there seems to be a plateau in COVID-19 hospitalizations, there is concern over a post-holiday COVID-19 surge.

At this time, medical experts at Valleywise Health, Arizona State University, and Banner Health are all in agreement that the vaccine will help keep you out of the hospital if you get COVID-19.

“It certainly continues to be our single best tool that we have,” said Dr. Michael White.

Dr. White is the Chief Clinical Officer at Valleywise Health. He says, at Valleywise, they’re maintaining a steady number of admitted patients for COVID.

“Our inpatient census has been varying between 35 and 41 patients over the last 10 days,” he added. Though now, they’re seeing a troubling trend.

“Our percentage of folks that are not vaccinated, that are positive in the hospital today, is 97%”

Dr. Joshua LaBaer is the Executive Director at ASU’s Biodesign Institute. He says the fastest-growing demographic for COVID-19 infection is children.

“One in four new cases of COVID is in a child,” he said during a press conference.

Dr. LaBaer says another big concern is the rise in the number of ICU beds taken by COVID-19 patients. He says this is especially troubling given the nurse shortage across Valley hospitals.

“That’s over 30% of them right now. If you talk to most hospitals they’ll tell you they’re pretty full of COVID-19 patients, and of course, the death numbers are also rising. So definitely some concerns here about where things are going in the state,” said Dr. LaBaer.

Dr. Marjorie Bessel, the Chief Clinical Officer with Banner Health, says hospitals are also seeing a spike in respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV.

She says RSV has similar symptoms to COVID-19. “ICU utilization across Banner Arizona’s hospitals did increase over the past 24 hours. It is unseasonable to see RSV this early, but it also reminds us we have influenza season ahead of us,” added Dr. Bessel.

All three health experts recommend getting the COVID-19 vaccine, and the flu shot, for better protection.

“It appears that it is safe to get both the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine at the same time,” said Dr. White.

Businesses have the right to refuse service to people that don't adhere to their rules. And states have the right to enact mask mandates as they see fit to protect the public.
Mandates are not law. Laws are made by the legislative branch and signed into law by the executive branch. State Governors have been using “emergency powers” for well over a year. Emergency powers aren’t endless. In PA we voted to reign in the governors power grab. Most businesses only followed the mandate out of fear. Any business that refused service because of it saw customers frequenting businesses that didn’t enforce said mandate.
Again you do you and I’ll do me. Feel free to wear a mask and get as many jabs as you like. Don’t worry about me.
