You got the Job?
For the headers just put your stock ones on till you pass then take em back out... all the hard work was already done....

If I put the stock ones back on I am not taking them off again. Yeah I a pretty sure I got the job. Just got to see how much the pay is.

I spoke with a BBK engineer, he all but said the ceramic was a hype. At worst the 304 headers will take a little longer to cool down but stainless steel has innate insulating properties. That I knew though, what I had not thought about was this: the ceramic is just a coating and while it does reflect heat, it is too thin to have a real performance impact. It is just used to protect the 404 and not intended to provide better heat properties. Even then they don;t guarantee the inside won't rust. The 304 material, on the other hand, is 16 gauge steel (about .57 inches) worth of insulating and rust resistant metal. But all of that sounds reasonable when you put some thought to it. THEN he added that the inside of the 304 headers are bored out smoother and to a higher degree of precision than the ceramics! THAT caught me off guard. I did not expect to hear a difference in craftsmanship per tier as well! Needless to say, I'm waiting on autoanything to get a set of 304's.

having seen ceramics and stainless side by side, I can tell you that the one more being smoother than the other isn't true. And if it was, it would have zero impact on performance because it was EXTREMELY minimal.

Mmm... Now I feel kind of dumb for trusting him. Luckily I did also call a local performance shop later, trickpro motorsports, and the owner said he sees an average of 7-10 years of life for coated mild headers. Some less, some more.

If the 6th gen ends up having a 4-cylinder this site is going to be hilarious to read.
