I just watched a huge tree top break off and fall in the dog kennel. I'm happy the dogs were in the house! If it wasn't so darn cold and wet, I'd just sit out back and listen to the cracking trees. I'm glad none of them are close enough to the house to do major damage.

One cool thing about this weather is that it provides some good photo ops! If I was willing to drive anywhere, I'd take my camera and go in search of neat pics like this:

My father-in-law just called. His power went out about 6 hours ago, so he decided to go hang out at the casino. He's up $1000! He's loving the ice storm now!

I HATE ice storms. They can do so much dammage & it looks bad for years afterword. Not to mention the power outages. Once when I was a kid we were out of school, without power, phones & even water for a month! We moved to my grandmother's house because she had gas heat & a fireplace. We cooked on a grill & canned heat & had to take the tractor to a spring to get water. It took years for the trees to over grow the ugly damages. I hope this all ends for you guys very soon, stay warm & safe.

Power went out again a few hours ago. My friend & neighbor who's an electrician came over and hooked up our generator, so we have heat and a well pump now! I can also turn on some lights, but want to conserve fuel, since I'm betting on the power being out at least a couple of days this time around...
